Lampard could do a job for us on a pay as you play basis. Mikel would be ok as holding DM. Terry can **** off though. <laugh>

30-40 would be far to much money to spend on a left back. Im not even that convinced that we need a left back this window, perhaps in the summer, but not now. Evra has been playing better lately, whilst Butner is decent cover.

Is Luke Shaw at the moment better than Evra? I'm not convinced. Maybe he will be in the future, but not now IMO

It is this kind of thinking that got us in the **** last summer. Value for money etc. too expensive and bargaining for a couple of millions here and there. The money is there and identify the player that will make a difference (not just any player) and get him.

Buttner? When he comes in for Evra he has been rank. He could improve but how much time does he need? Shaw will be a much better replacement if we are not getting Baines <ok>

I understand what your saying, but we don't have, as far as I'm aware deep pockets like Man City and Chelsea. 30-40 million can get you a fair bit even nowadays in the transfer market, and there are plenty of other players out there that would make a difference.

Butner is no world beater, but from what I've seen he looks useful. He played a cracking cross for Hernandez to score against Swansea, and was one of our better players the other night against Sunderlamd before getting injured

How much do you think he'll cost? He's arguably the best box to box midfielder in the world.

Błaszczykowski from Dortmund. Only 2 years left on his contract and he'd form a diminutive, but skillful, duo with Mata in the midfield...

    ... also, 14-letters, baby! <ok>

That may be so but if United want to remain one of the top 3 or 4 clubs in the world then the glazers will have to review the way they have run this club for the last 8 years. Bayern can do it by spending big on the players they need. United need to identify the player they need and buy him. I am not saying pay any price but **** the haggling for one or two million which allows someone else to sneak in and snatch him.

Gary Nev said he couldn`t see where Mata would fit in at United but could be a sprat to catch a mackerel. Do you think he had another big name in mind with this comment or did he mean it could be a signal of intent to several other players.

Not sure what Gary is talking about tbh.

How does a player like Mata not fit in? is it because hes good and we've been playing complete ****e like Valencia and Young?
