Backin the 80’s I worked with quite a few people who made regular visits to the washrooms, and always seemed to come back happier than when they went.

When there's a group of people doing it regularly then agree 100%, turns people weird and you start lying about money and ****. Horrible drug when it takes hold of someone.
Doing it out and about socially is a different kettle of fish though imo, it's when it's just being done sat in flats etc when it gets like that generally.
It’s cumulative. Everybody blames the brandy or the port ( which, incidentally is as bad or worse!) as it’s usually the last thing they drink in an evening. They forget the beer, wine, top shelf, and all the other **** they put down their neck before that.
Yeah, for 30 mins or so. Coke is great, but it's also short lived and if there's a group of people there's never enough to go around as it's so moreish. I used to prefer dropping a tab of acid and going walkabout personally
True mate but I don't think I've ever drank brandy and not woken up with a 'behind the eyes' headache like I had this morning though.
I suspect it's different if you drink it regularly of course. Some people would probably get a bad hungover off half a bottle of spiced rum whereas I'd be fine the day after a whole bottle.

I like it because it's not too messy though. I'm too old to be ****ing around wuth substances which trash you for hours on end... I also like the fact it stops me being too ****ed. I like being in control and there's almost nothing worse than drink which changes that.
Its strange cos brandy was my choice of spirit back in the day but i too often would find myself waking up in cells with very little recollection of what the **** I did the night before, that made me switch to rum (dark rums only apart from the odd wrey) and I'm good as gold on that both behaviourily and hangover wise.
First action on a Night out for me is usually an 8ball, 2 tequilas whased down with a pint hen maybe another pint and after that I'm on the rum.
