Hornsea Town 1978-2001 had some good ding dongs in the past with the likes of Wheeler WS, Reckitts, Aarro Albion, Greatfield in the old Amateur League
I played for Howden juniors as a kid. Took them from the Wyke into the Myton league and didnt fare too badly against the bigger teams. I also represented the East Riding for both years I was eligible at school. I played Saturday league for Cross Keys in Howden and Sunday league for Newport before dislocating my knee. I did flirt with North Caves 1st team on my return from injury, but dislocated my knee again pre-season so never actually played for them. Thats pretty much been me ****ed ever since!
No shame in not being picked for that Trinity team pal . That had some quality larkers . For such a small school we definitely punched above our weight . Steve Platten was city boys captain , Alan Laybourne was class( city boys) , Nicky Thompson ( city boys) , Pete Jonah , Mad Matty Dicko , Andy Willo and the mighty midfield general himself - me . All very good players . The only bad thing about the team was the kit . We played in training tops because we didn't have proper shirts .
