Played for Hessle Ex Serv. in the early 70's was so crap could only get in the 2nd eleven. So I have sympathy for Kamel Ghilas.

Vasalund IF in the late 90s. I'm sure you've all heard of them :emoticon-0150-hands

    Best memories

Winning 20-0 at home, scoring a stunner from just outside the penalty area. Smashed the crossbar and hit the goalies back and went in. He started to cry and jump on his cap. Will never forgot that moment :cheesy:

Being down 2-3 with 1 minute left. I ran into the penalty area on the goalies left side and would have easily been able to score 3-3 if I wasn't 100 % right footed. I tried to bend it in with my right foot, which ended horrible when I tripped myself over.
Coach's comment: "FFS Febbos, you do have a right foot" Pretty harsh considering I was 8 years or so :cheesy:

Being down 0-5 after halftime, winning the game with 6-5.

I do remember being mentioned as "Tall, interference secure (really not sure how to translate being 100 % when it comes to interferencing) centre half.

    Good times, good times :D

Hey Febbos reading your reminiscings i was playing for a Saturday league team called Robin and the keeper was ill so I went in goal and this is 100% true we won the game 3-0 and i scored a hat trick 2 were penaltys(and i was the penalty taker) and the other came from one of their attacks, the ball was lofted over the defence and their forward tried to run on to it but i was quick off my line and launched it skyward at pace their center back was running towards the goal with the keeper running the opposite way it was chucking it down and they collided.

The ball bounced over them and into the net the result a hat trick. I think i have still got the clipping from the Sports Mail when it used to be green.

Played for Leven Primary School, didn't get picked for Hornsea School or Hull Trinity.. played for the "house" team at Hornsea.. play here in Lyon in the park, it isn't a league as such but we all wear full kit and it's pretty competitive..

Long Riston Rangers. Although we played at Leven most of the the time.

Only ever scored 1 goal for them and the fool of a ref missed me off the match report.

Think i got booked that day and all, but he, conveniently, remembered to put that on there.

I play for North Cave Veterans in the Hull & District Veterans League, we won Div 3 and the League Cup last season(losing only two games all season), but we're not fairing quite so well since being promoted to Div 2, we've lost 2 of our first 3 games. Our first game was abandoned after our left back got a double leg fracture and as a result of his injury, we've seen quite a few of the lads finding themselves 'busy' on a Sunday and our squad isn't as strong as it was last season.

Is veterans over 40s? Cos i'll be turning 40 next year and I'm thinking of playing for La Mulatière (a local team), one of my neighbours plays there and I've no intention of quitting football..

I can't actually remember what the age is, but I think it's a bit more random, either 36 or 37 I think.

Name doesn't ring a bell. Might have been a bit older than me.

Do you know Mike Swann? He lives in Leven. He was our coach back then.
