It would have to be Raylor.

With Saylor, Colo and Jonas we always knew what we'd get from them and Cabaye was a player I knew from Lille who would fit in well with Tiote and some attacking wingers.

Raylor was undoubtedly the weakest link in the back four at the start of the season when Enrique was sold but he's stepped up to the plate and has earned the right to play each game so far.

Both the Taylors have surprised me, as has Best. I forgot just how good Saylor can be and Raylor has been solid, plus the small matter of a certan free kick on a sunny August afternoon. Best keeps getting the goals and has only had one poor game this season.

Krul for me, wasn't 100% sure about him by any means but he has been epic.

Coloccini has probably been equally epic but not as much of a surprise for me as I rate him so highly

For me Jonas, there has been many improvements so far this season which is why we are in the position we are in! However Jonas over countless games so far has put a shift in and consistently backed up Raylor whilst being a outlet for the defence. Not to mention the assists and goal he has chipped in with.

    Well played sir!

Ryan Taylor, you know he's doing a good job when he's keeping Santon out of the side!

Gotta be Raylor. He isn't a liability in that position and could potential be our left back for the season with Santon at right back.

Jonas deserves special credit for his defensive AND offensive work, he's been top draw. In fact, everyone has. The future is very bright.

I can see us drawing with Wigan though, it'd be so typical of us.

    Good article!

    Beat me to it.

In terms of shear suprise factor, that 15 minutes of Shola's takes some beating. If he can do it again, he wins at a dawdle
