QPR are in real trouble. They absolutely have to stay in the PL because implosion awaits if they don't. They are £170M in debt, and losing, and only a presence in the PL gives them any hope of maintaining their present existence. If they go down I suspect they will become another Portsmouth, albeit with a rich owner who has bags of money, but can't use it. As I see it, FFP in the Football League will actually become the seed of their fall.

If Redknapp had the merest clue of what awaits them if they dive into the FL he'd resign tomorrow, I think.

Good effort from QPR but all in vain.

    Qpr seem to be down

Failing to win or even get a point after all they did to day, including comedy defending, shows that they would appear to be doomed.

People expect them to throw money at it in January but I am not certain they can afford that gamble...

Well given the fine (around £65m I believe) that will be coming their way from the Football League if they do get relegated (and wish to accept a place in the Championship), not to mention the loss of TV revenue, they might decide that actually spending big in January is the cheaper option.

But can they cover a circa 20m spend on the chance that it might not work

Too early to say if they will be adrift at that point, but I am not sure who they could get that will be able to save them

And surely they have premier league FFP to contend with a well - so can only increase wage bill by a certain amount unless they sell players (there were some detailed articles on a blog mentioned on Saintsweb suggesting this is why we sold players - as there is no way we could have given them all pay rises)

Unless they have already sorted it out...don't QPR owe the FL money for FFP violations. There was talk that they wouldn't be allowed back in the League if relegated.

Do people still think I'm crazy for saying a top 10 finish for Hammers? :)

As for the drop, think Burnley are certainties to go. QPR look like following them unless an inspired change is made.

Then it's one from probably around 5/6. I reckon Pardew will have toon safe. I still think Villa n Leicester will get dragged into it.

Only if they didn't pay the fine. Could become awkward and I imagine lots of delays and appeals to CAS.

If it is looking like they will get relegated they could do with getting relegated with a few games to go so the arguments can start early and hopefully not disrupt the championship next season

That's the £65m fine I refer to above. The last I heard it was "pay up, or we're not letting you in should you ever get relegated from the PL again".

So effectively it's a £65m entry fee (if that figure is correct) into the Championship for QPR. On top of the loss of television revenue. And lower ticket prices. And certain players on their books with little re-sale value but no doubt high wages.

Relegation could well screw QPR for many years to come.

Who would you consider "inspired"? 'Tactics' Tim Sherwood. I can't imagine that would work if that is the case :)

If Leicester were to go I wonder if people would still turn their nose up at being linked with Jamie Vardy again (I'm sure I saw that in the summer). Tore Man United to pieces...

Unless there is a legal loophole they might gamble big in January as it could well be a case of survival or liquidation in their minds

(I assume they will refuse to pay the fine but assume they can afford it)

Big win for QPR last night, Burnley still look as doomed as ever, Villa look in for another long season, and Leicester struggling a bit now, could be an interesting dog fight for the season...

Also a big win for Toon over the weekend, and Sunderland drop into the bottom 3 to replace them...

Form table just been shown on Sky...Benali had the biggest grin you have ever seen because we are top, but Villa is bottom. I always think of Villa as a nice safe club, but they have struggled for a while. Point of information: Spurs is 17th on form :)

So after last night the three promoted teams fill the relegation spots. Cant see much hope for Burnley but have a feeling Houdini Harry will keep QPR up. Not sure about Leicester but would love Nigel to succeeed just not this coming weekend.

Don't want all 3 to go down...it's good if promoted sides see some success. So just QPR :)

Houdini Harry? The only thing you could link him to Houdini is the way he gives the illusion of being a good manager and performing the unexpected.

I would call him more Harry Blair. After all he spends huge amounts of other people's money whilst lining his own pockets, revelling in the limelight and blaming everyone else.

He also takes the glory whilst letting his 'staff' do all the work.

Who goes down? 3 of the bottom 18
