I don't care how honest he may or may not be, he plays the most tedious style of football known to man. Hoofing the ball up the middle at every opportunity should be a capital crime. It destroys the game.

Big Sam took a team noted for the quality and entertainment value of its football and turned them into a laughing stock. Saints fans (with no one controlling person, remember) laugh openly when we play West Ham as they tediously and tiresomely hoof the ball over the midfield in the hope that one of their passes might stick. 7-8,000 people all shouting "hoof" as they repeat their one trick is not co-ordinated, it's just a reaction to a football-killing tactic. We laugh because 8,000 people all slitting their wrists at one moment would cause rather a mess.

It's negative, hateful and alien to anyone who loves the sport. It's mind-numbingly awful to watch and I suspect that's why the WHU fans have turned on him; they're paying money to watch football and they are getting paint drying without the exciting moments. It's HORRIBLE!

If anyone thinks that's doing a "good job" then I pity them.

I do agree about Leicester, though, so there's still a spark of sanity in your muddled skull.

Maybe I should have chosen that one - I had my first trumpet lesson tonight (genuinely), so by the end of the season I might be able to pick out a tune.

I don't know about honest. He's sees everything from his perspective; grudgingly gives out any genuine words of praise for the opposition, and if it actually happens then WHU must have been given a footballing lesson. Oh, and WHU only gift goals, the opposition don't create them. Allardyce is the same as many others. He's certainly no Steve Bruce who is a thoroughly genuine bloke, imo.

Was that in their relegation seasons or the seasons they spent getting out the Championship?

Or maybe harking back to the 60's when they allegedly won the World Cup.

If you really believe Fat Sam is honest then you really don't know anything about him.

What's the old saying..? Sing on, sweet lips that never told a lie..! I thought that was appropriate, seeing as the other conversation here was about Allardyce. :)

Didn't see much evidence of that on Monday night, but if it's a winning formula who cares? I'd much prefer to see my team win games than play lovely football and lose because that would increase my anguish after a match.

And please, some of you, put prejudice to one side and actually listen to Big Sam (NOT FAT, THAT's DISCRIMINATION) in a post match interview or press conference. He and Steve Bruce are both refreshingly honest a game where some managers (look at Lee Clark on Saturday) speak utter BS.

I could write more to pick apart your analysis, but frankly I just don't have the time.

I don't want to get into an argument, I just want to put my opinions across.

Each to their own AMOT. Have to say I have a lot of time for Bruce as a manager but have just never liked Allardyce. His moaning and d groaning in our promotion season just made it worse.

I think my dislike of West Ham and Allardyce is a left over from when they were our rivals in the Championship. Not our rivals now, so time for me to move onto Spurs (more realistic as rivals to us) especially as their manager is far more repulsive than Sam.

Are you actually beng serious? I know Pochettino left but I thought you lot would still like him after bringing all those youngsters into the starting XI and finishing 8th in the PL.

Might be the same with Koeman in a couple of years.

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about, so just stop before you embarrass yourself.

I'm not a Saints supporter, I just wanted to know why there was any dislike for Pochettino.

Speaking of which, he loves moaning about officials!

He's basically the root cause for all the players leaving in the summer.

It's equally as discriminating to call him Big Sam.

I'm reading through your posts and wondering why you are getting your knickers in a twist on someone else's board?

Edit: oh and you don't want an argument just want to put your opinions across?? Try using a mirror then, not a football forum. You'll get no argument then :)
