No, we're only in the ****e if we lose tomorrow...ok, we're in the ****e! Ps I don't have a problem with District - He seems to know quite a bit about football, and I'm pretty suspicious about whether he's a Chelsea fan at all
I realise you're not quoting my post, but for me Thai there is no siege mentality. If I were an Ipswich fan posting an article on your board about your impending relegation fight the day after your defeat to Colchester the other year how would you respond? Flamethrower out no doubt because you would know however the article was dressed up, it's main purpose would be to provoke Norwich fans. Why would any Chelsea fan be posting articles like this here, rather than worrying about the mess they're in and posting their concerns about that on their own board? Echoing what was said above, I also welcome genuine and positive debate in the right spirit. But if it's just more arrogance and condescension from "big club" wummers then I reserve the right to respond how I see fit. Edit to add: And I've just checked out a thread I started on the Chelsea board, edited and adapted from District Line's OP here. I was called "a tosser". .
FAO Thai Canary I actually went trawling back over your match thread when you were up against our noisy neighbours. Wow! Now That's What I Call Flaming. That's just one Norwich fan; I haven't even touched on the Ipswich wummers and the Norwich responses. The "debate" spiralled out of control until the Norwich mod called time. Do you see my point Thai?
I do see your point Telford. By the way - You forget to mention that I did not say any of the above. How other people on other boards conduct themselves is out of my hands. As a moderator, I tried to calm certain individuals down on our board but failed, hence I resigned as moderator from our board. I disagree with any set of fans abusing other fans on any forum, perhaps my standards are set too high for many on Not606 but those are my standards. I try to treat people with respect be it on our board or any other board and expect the be treated the same but it doesn't always happen for whatever reason. Hence I try to avoid this board under normal circumstances. Sad really that the behavior of just such a small minority should be the over-riding perception from 'outside' your board. Overall we only seem to have 'run in's' with you guys and a handful of Ipswich guys (although some of the Spurs lot last week were not so good). Both of these have history that just doesn't go away. I can understand that with our arch rivals, but what is it about some QPR fans and us??
Fair enough mate good luck later. Nail biter I'd say (for us anyway). I've no problem with Norwich. I don't think any of us have tbf. (Sorry edited my post before your reply and I wasn't trying to say that you, all or most NCFC fans are like this. I think we all are sometimes. Just trying to highlight the dangers of maybe taking certain posts, written in the heat of passion, too seriously.) Iirc for some reason we weren't allowed by the Spurs' mods to post in their match thread when we played, so can't comment on that. But on the plus side they don't like Chelsea. Edit to say that the view that "we" don't have a problem with Norwich, a club 100+ miles away, is my own. You may be right Thai .
Nail biter for us too, I for one am not exactly confident despite your poor home record this season = could easily go either way but my cash would be on 2-2.
Not gonna make a scoreline prediction but one goal either way wouldn't surprise me. What we are tending to do if we get a goal up in a game is sit back and cling on for dear life. If we do score two it would probably be if we are chasing the game. I wish we'd play like this from the start. Please tell me Holt isn't playing.
I know. Like a say a nail biter. Who'd ever be a football fan eh? Fair play to the Canaries, you're doing really well. (And you've got all your really hard games out of the way already. Have you seen our run-in ). I asked this question on here of our fans a few days back and I'd be interested in your perspective: what were you expecting out of this season?
I would say we have only had 1/2 the hard games out of the way and collected 1 point. Same next time I suspect too with a home game to Liverpool. (perhaps) I have not looked at your run in (will look later), though I have read many times on here it is tough, ours is 9 April - Tottenham v Norwich 14 April - Norwich v Man City 21 April - Blackburn v Norwich 28 April - Norwich v Liverpool 5 May Arsenal v Norwich 13 May - Norwich v Aston Villa Far from easy. Expectations at the start of the season were not high and survival would be a bonus. 3 weeks ago - We could survive if we keep this going. Before today's game - If we can win, same as above. If we lose or draw - I fear we will sucked back down to the bottom 4 or 5 places and it's backs to the wall. At the end of the day, survival will be deemed a success. To finish above 16th will be a tremendous effort.
Our last 8 games: Arsenal (H) Man Utd (A) Swansea (H) WBA (A) Spurs (H) Chelsea (A) Stoke (H) Man City (A) A bit of a doddle really...
I'll see you your last five and raise you our last eight. 31/03 Arsenal (H) 07/04 Man. Utd. (A) 09/04 Swansea (H) 14/04 WBA (A) 21/04 Spurs (H) 28/04 Chelsea (A) 05/05 Stoke (H) 13/05 Man. City (A) We've basically three months to survive because I don't think we'll get too much out of those. Like yourselves at the start of the season I thought (and still do for many reasons) that survival would be a bonus.
It's our next ten games which we have to start getting some wins, a loss today would be disastrous both for confidence and the fact it's against a team we view as a relegation rival. At the start of the season I had Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn, Swansea, Norwich and ourselves as the 'League at the bottom', Bolton, surprisingly, are now part of it. Of those teams we have only beaten Wolves, that is a big contributing factor to us being where we are now. If we haven't got to the 30 point mark by time we meet Arsenal again I fear the worst, it's going to be a fraught 2nd half to this season...
Interesting discussion between Telford, Thai and Sooper above - and night shift too! Good to see Thai back on here. Always makes a respectfully interesting contribution imo.
