It would be good if that happened, but I wonder if that project will continue. Not a criticism of Roberts by any means - I hope he's a success - but we really didn't have anyone else to play there as a #10 last season, so the conversion was born out of necessity. We don't really play with a #10 at the moment, imo. I've never seen Klich as a #10, even though he's playing AM. But we do have Costa who can play there, and Pablo too, at a push. And in the background we have this year's #10 project - Bogusz. I wonder if this year's setup will result in Roberts reverting back to striker. Don't know what'll happen or what is best, tbh.

You obviously didn't hear that one. Didn't you even hear that he received zero tweets from the squad?

I knew he was ghosted by the squad, just didn’t know the reason why.

It’s a typical Bielsa squad, all the players are well versed in a number of positions.

Great to have so many quality options.

Yeh, we need to see white in an away game when we’re under the cosh AND see him for consistency over the season. But he looks a thoroughbred at this level.

Pontus I thought was great when he had his head on, but his form was like his personality... a bit erratic.

A bit cloudy but seem to remember in one game last season, Saiz playing a pass out wide, think it may have been Shackleton but could have been Clarke , it was a poor pass and Saiz let his frustration on the kid , even though it was him that played the poor ball. Saiz's reaction was well over the top, perhaps that carried on into the u23's.

Snap I was going to say both but part of Bielsas reasoning on squad size is he understands the complications in keeping everyone happy

The two youngsters who have impressed me most this season are Bogusz and Leif Davis.

Davis is a little bit further to the forefront of Bielsa's thinking and rightly so judging by his performances so far. Bogus might have to bide his time for most of this season now we're out of the Caraboa Cup, which is a shame as I think he's ready to make the step up.

    Both incidentally are Orta signings.

WJ may have touched on something that I couldn't get my head around, Roberts. I dont see him as a 10 this season and now WJ mentioned it he could well be going back as a striker. Mujica chased and got from Barcelona then sent back to Spain on loan. Sam Dalby allowed to leave and we could also see Edmondson going out on loan too. So Roberts may have to fight for a place via the 23s

Really? Ive always thought Bielsa was quite rigid in his team selection, rarely rotating the starting 11 except injury enforced. Maybe just my perception of things.

That’s kind of what I’m saying. Bielsa doesn't like a large squad, he doesn’t want to have to keep players happy and having unrest with players, he doesn’t want to rotate, more shift around with players able to cover two positions

Which he doesn't seem to do is my point.

    “Reasons unknown?”

    Seriously?

Where have you been the last couple of months? This was done to death for days here and on other Leeds united sites.

    All conjecture I'm afraid Jonny.

Do not remember seeing anything official from the club or player.

In fact he still has Bielsa's praise ringing in his ears from his recent return to ER with Brentford.

No wish to discuss that particular topic further, I was merely stating my reasons for preferring White over Pontus at this stage.

Personally I think players shouldn't really be compared as they all have different qualities and skills, however, we tend to do it during debates or arguments with other teams fans etc.

Comparing Jansson and White is like comparing Norman Hunter and Nobby Stiles.

Jansson is an experienced player, and can score goals. He's played many a brilliant game for us, and saved us on many occasions.

White is an up and coming player who has impressed nearly everyone, but has yet to prove himself over a full season. White can go all season and prove to be a good CB, but never score a goal..............that will be the difference between White and Jansson.

If I was to pick a team now, it would be Jansson with White as first sub.

Whereas I'd have Pontus & White as my preferred two, it's all opinions as they say.
