Higher? He hasn't won the 'Champions League'. I think it's hard for other clubs to judge, because he hasn't really been here very long and there's some long term problems here (owners) The Allams will sell him for nearer to 5 million I expect.
It's yer modern footy fan Poll - high as a kite when we win, deep doldrums when we lose, no happy medium I'm afraid.
I think we will lose Maguire, Jak, Robertson, Tymon, Huddlestone, Grosicki, Hernandez and Clucas if we go down. Plus the loans going back. I think it would have to be a near total rebuild and funds would have to be available. If Huddersfield don't go up, get Wagner in. The idea of Flight of the Valkyries playing is appealing. I'd hope to make at least £30m on the above as a minimum, hopefully if Maguire goes to Spurs as has been mooted we would get a player in return. I imagine we would loan a few, but I'd address the striker situation by going for Assombalonga. Make him a priority signing.
Wishful thinking. He's been here ages, but he's more than proved he's a capable PL keeper. Brighton or whomever wins the playoffs might want him.
He was saying people don't generally buy keepers. I was just stating one example close to home where we did indeed spend £5m on a keeper.
Spot on. Every time we lose its because the players don't care, according to some of our fans, but there's so much more to it than that. Having such a high-pressure must win game and knowing Swansea were watching us was the worst kind of situation for us yesterday and we didn't cope with it. Swansea playing later and knowing we'd lost probably helped motivate them to win. You could see on the players faces they absolutely did care. We also lacked a bit of luck yesterday which has been haunting us all season.
Many crossed wires on this page, my point was we will have Marshall for keeper. Jak will be wanted and i think is coming to the end of his contract, where as Marshall... well lets just say is the opposite.
Marshall has not become a bad keeper overnight. He had a nightmare for us at the start of the season but the whole team did and Phelan's management of the situation was poor. If we do have Marshall between the sticks in the championship im sure he'll more than do a job. Stockdale helped get us promoted and he's just done the same for Brighton.. even though he's not that great.
It really isn't about 'luck' it's about hard work and doing the basics. We've won plenty of high pressure games already this season by playing high tempo football against considerably better teams than Sunderland. If the players could have picked a team to play - I'd happily put my mortgage on most of them picking Sunderland at home. The worst team in the league. I love how you always say - you could see in the players faces? Really? Are you clairvoyant too? It would be interesting to see the post match stats of the yardage covered by players against Sunderland versus an equally important game like Middlesbrough.
but that just proves my point he was meant to be the best keeper in the prem in 13-14 yet he didnt leave cardiff til last year i dont believe any prem teams will come in for jak not that he isin't good enough, teams just don't change their keepers regularly like they do any other position
