You are joking right? Sunderland were under no pressure. There's absolutely no way on this earth we played with the same tempo and determination we have in previous home games. You must have watched a different match to me.
I think we'll lose most of our players. Maguire, Clucas, Jak, Hernandez, Robertson, Elmohamady, Huddlestone. There's probably more out of contract? Plus the loan signings we have. Relegation will put us in a desperate need for player recruitment. I'm not even sure the likes of Grosicki would fancy a season in the Championship. I don't think we'll bounce back from relegation any time soon.
That's the real shame for me. With a full pre season and just average backing from the owners I honestly feel we'd be a top 12 team next season. But if we go down the entire squad will be decimated, we'll lose the manager and we'll more than likely never have this chance again.
Me too. Criminal really. For selfish reasons I wanted to stay up as it's nice coaching my lads team and seeing a lot of them wearing City kits and wanting to be the next Maguire or Clucas. Not to mention the profile of being in the PL does for the region. Sadly with ****wits in charge they have spurned this opportunity and next season I think could be an absolute car crash.
nail on head. championship will not be a fun time next year.. fully expect a champ relegation battle and it's a world cup season, grosicki won't want a a season in the champ same most of them really
We go down growshitski leaves. Fact. It's in his contract. Ye but we'd get money for those that leave. Not all is going to be put back but they will still have to provide a budget. Let's hope it's Silva, but whoever has to spend well. Probably get down to brentford and pick up a few, seems to be the way
What has tempo got to do with passion? We were just poor. I don't think it was down to players not wanting it. If anything they were too on edge. I was there. It wasn't a lack of effort, it was some bad luck. Some poor finishing and some nerves. No one hid. Some people were just crap!
We were worried Nervous Desperate for the opening goal Which translated to some shocking poor performances Instead of being calm and collective and playing like we usually do
I think if we go down and Silva sticks with us, most players will be happy to stay. Yes we'll lose a few if the right bids come in, and they will.. But we'll get good money and hopefully most of it will go into building a new squad. Also when we went down before, we thought we'd lose most of our players... we only really lost Diame and Brady. We're actually in a really good position if we go down. A few of these will probably be sold, but we'll get good money hopefully. Jak, Marshall, McGregor, Mannion all decent keepers, especially in the Championship. Dawson, Davies (Maguire will be sold) are a perfect pair for a promotion push, just need to buy and loan a couple of players for cover/competition. Tymon, Robertson, again both are perfect for the Championship. Elmo, Odubajo... same applies again. Huddlestone, Meyler, Evandro, Henrikson & Mason.. best midfield in the Championship? Wingers is where we're lacking.. but if most of our budget is to buy some pacy wingers and a few forwards... thats a hell of a good team.
Good man. Bit of positivity. I remember we werent going to sign anyone last season then up.popped the best young RB around
You play the game at tempo, rather than at a pace that can best be described as pedestrian. That's how Silva teams are set up to play, that's why he brought in Markovic and Grosicki - so when we win the ball back, counters can be fast and effective. Examples - first goal v Watford and Grosicki assist for one of the goals v Middlesbrough.
I think your forgetting the level of the Championship. It's a tough old league to get out of but we've done it 3 times. Dawson & Davies are more than capable at that level.
Mcgregor won't be here, just cost wise Think jak will stay 100% Evandro won't be here Elmo will leave i hope No idea what masons health is.. think hud will try and leave
Im sure most scouts/managers have seen what we've seen all season. Good player, decent going forward, not the best defending.. But surely if he does go, we're talking 10+ million for him... Then move young Tymon in the first 11 and lets see what he can do.
Not sure. Some people seem to fall very easily into criticising the team and the manager; it's almost like their comfort zone.
