Hewitt is still only 20 Warky, so steady on there lets not write him off completely yet. However, at present he's nowhere near good enough for the first team. Would like to see Henshall tear up league 1 / 2 for 6 weeks and see if he could figure then. Henshall / Stewart may get 45 each at Saints.
Ha ha! Nice little trip down Newmarket Road for you then, eh? Seriously though, do you get to the Abbey Stadium much these days?
We have a very strong starting eleven, plenty of depth in midfield, and two goalkeepers who can perform well at this level. As the recent match against Southampton has showed, this squad can compete at a Premier League level. Our defence is well-organised and we have players in the form of their careers, meaning goals do not appear to be much of a problem, at the moment. However, we cannot afford to be complacent and, as we well know from a decade and a bit at this level, it is incredibly difficult to achieve promotion. We have the best opportunity to attain Premier League football since the peak of the Joe Royle years. I believe we could do so, if we bring a spark of creativity in midfield. Somebody like Jon Williams could provide the difference between automatic promotion and the lottery of the play offs. Yes, Kevin Bru, Tommy Bishop, and Darren Ambrose have the ability to inspire that outlet, but we look a good side with Williams in the team. If we can, he should be a definitive purchase. In other areas, another striker to provide support for Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick would be a wise move, as our supporting players in that department (Sammon, Bajner, etc) do not look like they have the quality to provide a consistent goal threat. Also, we are looking a little short at the back. Cover for right-back, if Hewitt does not have a future at the club, should be a move to make in the transfer window, even if it's just a loan move.
