Only Shaw. Gullable. I was under the impression that it hinged on the manager staying/going. Which has transpired to be the case, just on a scale far bigger then I ever realised.
Who cares? I thought players would show Koeman some respect and listen to him before moving. I obviously know nothing.
Chances of getting Clasie just got a bit higher, Feyenoord are about to sign midfielder Basaçikoglu from Heerenveen. Could be anticipating departure of Clasie this Summer.
Fiorentina are reportedly in for him, but with the cash you have right now, I can easily see him go to Southampton. His style of play suits the EPL more than Italy IMO.
I said MoPo Shaw and lallana and got slated for being "too negative". Turns out I was being too optimistic...
Yeah, I remember saying some players would go before all this happened and got jumped on as well. Funny how now everyone predicted this. I can't recall exactly where I stood but I think I thought Shaw and Schniederlin would go. I know I predicted MP would stay and was pretty confident about that, so I look pretty stupid now. I was neutral on Lovren and Lallana. I thought they might go or might stay, depending upon what offers we might get and who came in for them. Lambert was similar. I hoped the club wouldn't sell him, but could see where they might. In the end, I guess I was not surprised by any the players leaving taken on an individual basis. The fact that they ALL left was definitely something that never entered my mind. And also I definitely didn't see them wanting to leave so bad they'd go out in the manner they did.
Can't remember but not many. Away from the fri he players, Dani and one of MP, Lallana and Shaw. Just two. Oops
I thought that we would keep the squad together and just lose the fringe players as they made way for better signings. I also thought that Poch would stay and that the club was going to make an assault on the top six this season. When Kruger talked about players wanting a short-cut to the CL, this is the scenario he was referring to, not the short-cut of leaving to join top 4 clubs. Obviously, when Cortese left, it became obvious to those players that the board believed that was not a sustainable model and that is what started the exodus. The real shock came when Poch left but the players obviously could see what was happening before that. So I was hopeless at seeing that and I should have worked out that the Southampton Way is not to throw money towards a gamble of CL quickly. I forgot that the Liebherrs have a way of doing business and it isn't the short-termism of so many others in football.
