it looks unlikely we can further incentivise him to stay based on what you've said. unless we give him that player manager clause that we gave sam gallagher.
you think there's scope to substantially improve his package? aside from osvaldo which had to be a big money deal, he's comfortably already the best paid player.
anyway, thread topic again, rhodes or ings would suit me. I've been told ings has a good all round game so i'd prefer him and his contract is running out, but burnley might just dig their heels in for the chance at staying up. i've never heard anything positive about rhodes except for his finishing. we could well do with a finisher but can we cope with a passenger? hooper might be a better choice.
I think that Hernandez is better than Welbeck, but specifically for us I think Welbeck would be a better fit for our system. They might both leave OT this summer. One might leave. Neither might leave. Until Utd have a new manager, and he has decided whether he wants them or not, I'm not sure how anyone can have an opinion either way as to whether or not Utd will let him/them go.
wellbeck is obviously a decent analogue of rodriguez. maybe we could get him on loan until jay is fit.
If Lallana goes it doesn't matter who we sign. That would be a massive statement by the club, allowing our best player and Captain to go.
Some suggested wont be cheap but obviously good players. I would love Lasogga from Hamburg, and spice t up with Viktor Fischer from Ajax (not a striker though). Both could be available for £5-8m each...
Finnbogason might be a more economic alternative to rhodes (how mad is that?). I've only seen highlights though. at least he's kept his scoring up for a couple of seasons.
They might lose a few more players out the door, and with them a significant number of supporters, who don't want to go back to being Premier League cannon fodder.
I have supported this club through thick and thin...I've watched them in the EPL, Championship, League 1 and back again. I am not going to stop supporting Saints and the world will not end if a couple of players leave.
I won't stop supporting or going to matches. Of course not. Enthusiasm will be curbed massively if Lallana were to leave though.
Until kick off and we go one up. Players have gone before...he will be a massive loss if he leaves, but another player will arrive. The important thing is to keep most of the team and add to it...and most will be here because they are under contract. If one leaves it actually becomes harder for the next one as a) the club don't need the money so much and b) they start playing hard ball. If Adam was injured we'd probably still win some games, so I propose (if he leaves) that we just pretend he's injured if it makes us feel better. Hell...let's go the whole hog. Once we get the money, we knee cap him!
Another massive risk of Van Wolfswinkel proportions though, this is going to be scary if we don't get it right.
always been more prolific than RVWW except for a poor spell at lokeren. yes it's a risk. picking anybody from outside of the premier league will be a risk though. tough to find anybody as cheap as rodriguez was (again how mad is that? he seemed expensive at the time)
Just shows how hard it is to predict how a player will do at your particular club. In theory, Ramirez (who I do like) and Osvaldo should have been stars for us, whereas JRod looked like we had bought him a year too late (would have helped us with promotion, but been out of his depth in the EPL). He turned out to be a diamond in the rough.
