wellbeck is not a bigger star than a 12 year old at bournemouth?

edit: hang on, did you mean not a bigger star than lallana is currently or osvaldo/ramirez when they joined? :emoticon-0102-bigsm ambiguity

but anyway, ramirez joined because his club was in financial strife, cortese had contacts in italy, and we threw money at him. osvaldo joined because his club were desperate to get rid, his old manager was with us, and we threw money at him.

neither of those has turned out well, we are unlikely to throw as much money at players in future, and wellbeck isn't the kind of player you would throw money at.

Wellbeck would be great for us but he won't cost 5-10m and his wages would wb a bit more than 40k, so as sotonist suggests, I'd chalk him off the list.

I'm sure a year ago everyone hated Welbeck. I really can't see that happening anyway.

We didn't throw money at Ramirez, he was just on so little wage at his past club our wage offer seemed crazy.

Nope, Lallana is on around 55k(if you don't count Osvaldo). Ramirez is on 40-45k which most of our squad are on. He was on on 15k at his old club hence him saying we gave him loads of money. When if you really look at it isn't the high.

Ok, but I remember Lallana and Fox going on soccer am and saying he was earning more than everyone else, so he must have been the highest earner when he arrived. Lallana's contract has been renewed since then.

i'm glad you're confident of that. so far the only actual information debunking the gaston massive wages thing i've seen is someone who claimed to have processed his mortgage.

is 45-55k a week not high for a club like us? id be surprised if we'd be in that market again.

We have around 8 players on 40- 45k, then more on 30-35k and then youngsters under 25k. Shaw is on around 30k. Lallana on 55k and Osvaldo on 60k.

When you consider what West Ham, QPR, etc are paying it looks quite frugal! Probably not the best yardsticks though!
