    Disagree with this matey,

Well if you are talking form then.. last 10 games a relevant, if you are trying to make a false point then you'd use just league games :D

Well no, I am talking about LEAGUE form, and where you will finish in the LEAGUE. Which is why I used LEAGUE results :p

In terms of who has the best team.
    It's such a close call.

Chelsea and City in the last 12 months have an identical record results wise:
    Calender year 2014:
    City Played: 38 Won: 27 Drawn: 7 Lost: 4 GD: 56
    Chelsea Played: 38 Won: 27 Drawn: 7 Lost: 4 GD:55

    One goal in it! <laugh>

Again, this is LEAGUE Only :p As we'd probably win otherwise having gone further than them in the cups and finishing top of our CL group

Since the summer you've leapt ahead of them, adding a striker worthy of the title and the majestic Fabregas, has put you at the pinnacle.

Typical Mourinho 2nd season i.e. he wins the league.

Man United's last 10 results - 7 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss (last loss was 10 games ago against City)
Players that fans can argue will come back and make a difference - Di Maria, Herrera, Rafael, Shaw, Blind

Arsenal's last 10 results -7 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses (last loss was against Stoke 6 games ago)
Players that fans can argue will come back and make a difference - Wilshere, Ramsay, Arteta, Ozil,

Liverpool's last 10 results - 5 wins, 4 draws, 1 loss (last loss was 5 games ago against United)
Players that fans can argue will come back and make a difference - Sturridge

The idea that there is nothing to suggest Liverpool's rivals won't maintain or improve their form while Liverpool will, is pure pipe-dream stuff tbh.

Last season was a record year for us. We had Suarez and our attack was in IMO the best seen in the premiership in the last ten years. It was exceptional and that was proved by us recording 48 points in the second half of the season. I am not sure but that must be very near to the record if it isn't.

We are far from being that. Our GK is hesitant, our strikers are not being used, our captain's future is uncertain. Will he play less or will Rodgers use him only in key games? Has he decided on his permanent system? What is not in doubt is that our team is far that exceptional one (in the attacking sense) we had last season.

If the number of points (79) required to get a CL place is the same as last year, then it will be almost impossible to achieve. We will require 51 points! Which is overtaking that Suarez- led teams's performance by 3 points. However I think we won't need that high number of points. I think something like 73-74 points might do it. To do that WE will require 45-46 points, which is what City needed to do when winning the championship last year. Our challengers will need relatively achievable number of points.

Well it IS possible to overtake all challengers at the end but it will take a premiership winning run !!

The points to get 4th are not what the person in 4th gets but the points the team in 5th get+1

So... If lfc are to beat arsenal to 4th what is total arsenal might get realistically from here?

I can't see them getting past 70 either given they have as many issues

    The reality however is

    70 - 28= 42 points = 14 wins out of 19

If anyone fancies lfc to win 14 out of 19 fair enough get down the bookies

But miles off 79 the point is 5th placed team is all anyone has to beat and sometimes it's not that high a tally

That's a bit simplistic. You actually have to displace the team in 4th. So their points tally is what you need to measure against.

But I think 79 is way too high. Looking at the last 5 seasons, I think around 70 is nearer the mark this season.

Nobody has a right to any place so it depends in perspective

For me I like looking down on lesser beings like spurs and Everton fans so they are down there in 5th or what have you and just need to be got past

Arsenal spent a lot of the rafa era looking up at us too so they are defecto holders but in fact have no right to it

They've fallen over the line many times

Always good to remind you lovable ****ers that United are in 3rd place have had an injury crisis all season.

Im not entirrly certain bit i think on just one occassion, all our signings featured.

Were also the form team. Despite missing most of our squad for all of thr season however that is changing. We have our fullbacks back, all our strikers are fit. We are missing our midfielders now, 120million worth.

Put anyside in our shoes and they a
    Majestic <laugh>

Take Matic away and let him demonstrate exactly how good he is. Its the story of his career. Carried by a truly world class defensive midfielder. My guess is this is the real reason Arsenal didnt resign him. They dont have anything like a Matic, Busquets or Viera. In effect, Fabregas becomes utterly pointless. I believe the games Matic missed this season go some way to showing this to be the case.

Oh, and they wont win the league. They have already blown a lead and its not even 2015 <ok>

We will finish no lower than 3rd.

The league is very fortunate we have had a huge injury list. Its hampered any real sense of progress yet despite it all we are the form team and will only get better.

I fully expect us to take more points than anyone else the second half of the season.

you are an arrogant turd. half this board has said you are ironed on for 3rd but you can't just take that you have to be utterly convinced you could win the thing despite being NOWHERE NEAR the class. for the record you are closer to lfc than you are to cheslea... you took great delight in pointing out we were closer to last than 4th so turnabout is fair play

for the record city are the form team at the minute.

FFS, you've had the most streaky run fuelled by an over-performing octopus in goal, a clutch of dodgy decisions and pure, unadulterated luck. True, you deserve top four for the simple reason that you are the least ****e team so far of the pack outside Chelsea and City, but three or four teams may hit form in the second half of the season and if you don't improve you'll just as easily find yourself on a run just as negative as the last ten games have been positive.

I don't think you will finish outside the top four, but it's comical that you believe you're nailed on for third.
