With Scottish and English ancestry, I was born in the USA during the early 1930s
At the age of five, I began working the cotton fields, and it was then that I started singing as a means of entertainment
I sold over 90 million records, won multiple Grammys, and entered the Halls of Fame for three different genres of music
An arachnid has been named in my honour, and a WWE superstar used one of my songs as his entrance theme

An only child, I was born in the USA during the late 19th century
Despite bow-leggedness, I worked as a child model before moving to New York to appear in silent films and on Broadway
I won an Oscar, an Emmy and a Golden Globe for acting, and my writing garnered three Oscar nominations
I continued acting into my 80s, two of my film appearances have been chosen for preservation, and a small theatre is named in my honour

I was born in London during the late 1940s
I worked in various industries, including catering and farming, before securing the role of stage manager’s assistant at a theatre in the south of England
I was once sacked from a role because I lacked the required menace, but I went on to win a BAFTA and Golden Globe for perhaps my best-known work
A member of the Royal Family is godmother to my daughter, and my wife is a member of a distinguished department store family

I don't have a computer, I just use my vast knowledge. I did however splash out on a new battery for my iPhone 4s today, only cost 20 euros

You know them all, of course, but's it's always handy to have a colour version. Enjoy!

One of three siblings, I was born in the West Midlands during the early 1960s
I gained a first-class BA in English Literature before gaining an overseas scholarship to study journalism
Since the late 1980s, I’ve served my political party in many roles, including press officer, local councillor, MEP and MP
I’ve won awards from the likes of The Guardian and The Observer for my commitments to the environment and humanitarian issues

I was born in the USA to Jewish parents, during the late 1960s
I studied dramatic arts for a time in the UK, and supplemented my income by working as a DJ at religious ceremonies
I’ve appeared in over 50 films, including a starring role in a superhero movie, and I often appear with the same clutch of actors – a sort of ‘noughties Bratpack’
I have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and I’ve narrated a documentary on my favourite football team

With English and Scottish ancestry, I was born in the USA during the late 19th century
After moving to the Easy Coast, I became involved in trade union activism and the folk movement
My second husband and I were blacklisted by Hollywood due to our links with communism, after which we moved to Mexico to concentrate on writing
Many of my works (one written while I was on Kibbutz) have been translated into Yiddish and Hebrew
