    I born in the USA during the early 30s and was raised by my grandparents
    I suffered from a severe stutter as a child but overcame this with the help of poetry recitals
    Although well-known for my film work, I found most success on the stage, winning two Tony Awards
    I've lent my voice to numerous animations, video games and documentaries

    I was born into a musical household in London during the mid 1950s
    My early career involved computers, but I did find the time to work on a soft drinks advert
    Due to my love of football I have often delayed, interrupted and postponed performances
    I am a vegetarian and humanitarian, and I offered my support to those affected by Hurricane Katarina

    A descendent of European nobility, I was in the USA during the mid 1960s
    I graduated from high school as a valedictorian, but I only completed one quarter of university
    I've launched my own ranges of furniture and beauty products
    I donate large sums of my income to medical research and am an official supporter of Ronald McDonald's charity

    I was born just outside of London during the WW2 years
    I left school with no qualifications and soon found work as a hairdresser and shop assistant
    During my career I have written a column for the Radio Times, guested on Multi-coloured Swap Shop, and appeared on Waitrose adverts
    I am both a CBE and OBE

    I was born in the USA during the early years of the 20th century
    Early ambitions of joining the Navy and playing pro football were dashed, so I took up acting instead
    A chain smoker from childhood, I survived lung cancer during the '60s
    At one stage I owned an island, which is now a tourist attraction

    I was born in the north west of England during the early 1930s
    During a period as a single mother in the '50s, I attempted suicide
    I appeared in one episode of Coronation Street
    Many of my works have been adapted for TV and film, and I received five nominations for a Booker Prize
