<laugh> to be honest, they are becoming a bit of a problem, but I suppose, what is the difference in drinking in the afternoon than the evening?(the other problem is I carry on when I go home!)

    Nice work, HC. :D<applause>

You win this stupendously entertaining Saul Goodman paper doll. Once you've printed it off, you may want to mount it onto some cardboard (cereal boxes work well). Enjoy, pal!

Early one today, lads. I'm heading out soon to a lovely café at Woodham Ferrers, so do be quick, please.

I was born in Lancashire during the mid 1930s
My father played professional rugby and represented both Scotland and Great Britain
I starred in a controversial sitcom that was cancelled after just two episodes
My daughter was born with cerebral palsy, and a trust in my name was set up for disabled children

I was born in the USA during the 1950s
I dropped out of school early, joined the Black Panthers, and changed my name on the advice of an African shaman
I have won ten Grammy awards, sold over 70 million records, and received a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
My son was once accused of murdering another man but was later found not guilty

The son of an equestrian, I was born in northern Italy during the 1st century AD
I worked for the most part as a military commander, but my spare time was devoted to the study of geographic and natural phenomena
Much debate surrounds my death, but it is certain my demise came during an act of great courage and honour
A lunar crater has been named after me, as well a term within volcanology

I was going to say those three, but Ponders usually says in the clue if the person is dead or not, hence I thought Roy Kinnear couldn't be right. I think we should call this one a draw.<ok>

    It's a pleasure, HC.

I'll be out for the next couple of hours, but be sure to tune in at around 2pm for another set of questions.

As a side note, just be aware that I don't always allude to the status of the individual's mortality. You may, however, find clues within the combination of (or lack of) auxiliary verb + tense.

From Monday I will be adding a new stipulation to the quiz. Not only will you need to name the three individuals, you will also need to find the link between the three.

I have some special quizzes coming up soon, including Kings and Queens, European Championship Football, St George's Day and Scotland.

    Exciting times, methinks.

Rain stopped play at Woodham Ferrers, so I've decided to release the next questions a bit early. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but I'm picking up the nippers at 3pm and need to go shopping straight after. Anyway, enough of that -

I was born in Ireland during the early 1920s
A keen amateur boxer, I once won the Irish junior middleweight title
My voice appeared on a Kenny Everett compilation album
I presented a popular UK show for 27 years (over two stints) until my death

I was born in Brazil during the early 1930s
A deformed spine and one leg six inches shorter than the other could not stop my meteoric rise to sporting stardom
I once adopted a dog after it urinated on an English sporting legend
Despite years of alcoholic misery and obscurity, my funeral procession was attended by millions

I was born in the west of England during the late 1950s
My first job was at an unemployment benefit office in Suffolk
I've collaborated with Elton John and Bonnie Tyler and even appeared at Live Aid
My first wife appeared on my early albums, and my second son was born with Down's Syndrome

I am going to go to the pub now, but to show there are no hard feelings about me not winning it, I shall give you one of the answers. I think the second one is Garrincha<ok>

<laugh> Well done, M. <applause> While the others were eating their egg sarnies at the fountain in the precinct, you nipped in for the victory. I'm going to receive some flak for this, but it appears you've reclaimed your crown...

Anyway, you win this handsome Donald Duck family tree. Enjoy!
