Ok, he put in a free kick for the 1st goal, and neatly passed the ball out to the wing leading up to our 2nd but overall again a very lack lustre, sluggish, uninspiring and underwhelming performance.

I just don't now how City can get the best out of him for the whole of the game. He obviously has a great talent but is the pace of the game showing him up?
 
Funny thing is Nin you've just put us to win tomorrow at Brighton and Whitts to get a goal - what more do you want of him??.......<laugh>

Agree though about the impression he gives on the pitch - perhaps if he can get out of sleep walking mode, he might get a hat trick?

I know - it's on the basis he'll be on the pitch for 90 minutes and is as likely to net with a 25 yarder as amble around for the remaining 89 minutes <whistle>
 
I watched Whitts against the udders (I know hardly top draw opposition) and he put in a good shift albeit low key with the exception of his goal. Is it a case of familiarality breeding contempt?
 
After seeing last night's game, surely enough is enough.

He has to step aside for someone with some pace, strength and drive.

He has been a tremendous servant but he is now holding City up. Championship midfielders must salivate knowing he is in the opposition ranks.

For the sake of the club, I hope Slade can see he is a luxury the club can ill afford to play constantly. Maybe he can bring something else out of him but to reiterate enough is enough.
 
Assist for the goal.

He's not a centre mid but he's without a shadow of a doubt our most creative player still.

Last night the commentary described the all too familiar story of us being torn to pieces out wide. We have to start covering our poor fb's. Daehli was being told constantly to stay out wide and cover whilst Pilkington is a lazy or unfit ****er that barely tracked their left back all match. Until our wingers start defending we'll continue to be far to easy to play against.
Brighton knew how to open us up before a ball was kicked and missed a number of chances created down their right before finally scoring from there. Play John in front of Fabio if needed and at least we'll have 2 players with energy who can both 'sort of' defend!
 
This is the 3rd or 4th (possibly 5th) game that Whitts has either scored or supplied final pass for a goal...let others provide the pace, strength & drive and leave Whitts to what he's good at.....scoring & creating goals.

Agree with Stevo....we either need more energetic 'wide men' or need to get more solid defending full backs (could start by recalling McNuggett.
 
I am not going to get to heavy on Whitts. He is frustrating sometimes but he is well and truly a Cardiff man and he does contribute 7 games out of ten. I think sometimes we want more from him than is possible. Whitts is not an automatic starter but he is an extremely valuable member of the squad and I hope he is a here until HE decides to leave.
