To be fair, I'd forgotten about the newly promoted clubs Keep forgetting it's not us anymore I just wonder with the 'established' clubs if the 'double gamble' of a largely unproven top flight player with a rotten injury record might, ultimately, give them cold feet. We'll see. Wherever he ends up, he is, as you say, sure to keep the physio busy!
Just as an aside to this, we ought to give credit surely to the club's physios and medical team. They hardly get a mention, but it was them who got Whitbread back playing on a regular basis, and who hopefully will prove to have done the same for Vaughan and Ayala. Apart from two years with Arsenal (at a time when City were at their lowest ebb and needed to reduce costs) Neal Reynolds has been with us since 2001. The minute the club were able to bring him in again, he was back at Carrow Road. You cannot overestimate the value of a good physio, and City have one of the best.
When fit I thought he was our best cb BUT he was injured so often he became a liability ! He's worth to us what he was getting if he thinks he'll get more good luck to him ! I hope Who ever he joins needs to have a good medical team!
I don't know why we are bothered about ex players. If Whitbread gets what he wants then more fool those that give it to him. I'm looking forward to the new players that CH will obviously bring in. And I bet we have one or two surprises.
Very good point As managers and players come and go, people such as Reynolds can go somewhat under-appreciated
