Gene Hunt was a Corrie fan, he had a bit of a thing for Bet Lynch <ok>
It's different if you're a Manc anyway, you see people and place you know on there. It's a bit like Facebook on TV <ok>

I'm the same with Rebus. Did you ever see Trainspotting?

Do you know they filmed most of it in Glasgow because Edinburgh has moved on and they needed somewhere rough to portray 1980s Edinburgh?

Don't tell the weegies though. It'll only upset them.

How's that ironic? They'd only be comparable if you were actively taking part in a soap instead of sitting on your couch watching it and stroking your vagina.

Plus, we're still waiting to hear the decision on the Jesus/Barabbas decision.

The old 'Volcano' club was used for the scene where Renton meets her from that kick-boxing deodorant advert. I was sick in that doorway once. I tell people that every time that scene comes on telly. Or when I meet them at parties. Or even just pass them in the street.

To be fair I knew Irvine Welsh when I was a kid, a fact I never tire of telling anyone who mentions him or any of his books or any films based on his books...

If I got to stroke a vagina whilst doing it I might start watching, apparently it's too distracting for her though. And to think that women claim we can't multi-task.

I've seen it a couple of times, and read the book too. I've read all Irvine Welsh's. I didn't know that about Glasgow though. I've never been and I'll probably never go now. Me and the wife go on about 4 "city-breaks" a year, but we're both a bit geeky and will only really go to places with a bit of history eg York, Chester, Edinburgh. So I reckon that rules Glasgow out. We're going to Warwick next, got it booked for next month.

You're giving your age away a bit there aren't you? <whistle>

No, I was a kid. He used to hang around in gangs with my older brother.

There might have been a big age-gap. I like to think that there was.

"Oh no! Oh no, look Irvine Welsh! I've fallen over! Why, I can't get up at all! And look, I've fallen onto my little tummy. With my little bum in the air! Anything could happen to me, Irvine Welsh, and I would be powerless to stop it, much less tell the police or a grown-up. Anything."

I hope it's not a sixth-form college attached to a secondary school? That would be violating the terms of your probation.
