I remember wondering what it would be like If men had their balls removed when I was a young adult .. Just walking past attractive women without a flicker of emotion..

Think the struggles we are having at the moment are actually a result of us being too successful too quickly on the playing side and not yet having a big enough squad to compete on 4 fronts. Would like us to finish as high as we can in the league this year but if we don't make the top 4 its no big deal.

Will Howe win us a trophy? If he is kept on to the end of his extended contract then yes he will. If we don't it wont be because of him, but because our commercial side has let us down and we haven't been able to build the squad we need.

I wanted the takeover to build a proper club from the bottom-up, playing attractive football, competing for the best players but also developing young talent, giving something back to the community and obviously providing adequate toilet facilities. Its a huge task because we slipped so far behind during the Ashley years but it can be done. You only have to look at Manchester City to see an example of how you can combine on field and off-field success while still building huge value and adding to the area. Sure they had a huge leg up due to lack of rigorous FFP control, in the early days, but have shown that it can be done. The facilities that they have and still are adding to the city are superb - it will have the biggest indoor concert arena by May this year, which they have funded 50%, a redesigned stadium with a 60000 capacity, a 400 bed hotel and more food outlets in the fan area.

It's almost a shame nobody will go when they're in League Two.

While Man City would never fill a 70000 seater stadium they have a remarkably loyal and consistent core of proper supporters. They would still be getting 30000 in League 2, if they were relegated due to their misdemeanors.

Substitute McGinn for any Newcastle player and substitute Newcastle for Villa and it all sounds so familiar.

Seems like every other Club has unrealistic fans etc not just us.

    Every club has them.

    Every fan is different.

But we all want the same thing and that’s success.

I am happy where we are at at the moment. Given where we have come from. But I want Howe to learn from his mistakes.

I want a club that is going in the right direction and we are.

The next few months will be interesting. Especially the transfer window.

The Newcastle fanbase is a mystery even to itself! We've reached a strange point where no matter what happens the cult will simply keep just chanting.

    "Remember where we came from"
"we don't demand a club that wins"
"We only want a club that tries"
"Do you want Mike Ashley back"

I would like Newcastle to win, but Newcastle need to rest players. It better to rest for one or two games.

McGinn is Scottish and a Twat.

The only possible Newcastle substitute for him is @Magdadlorian.

i wholeheartedly agree: but then we have certain fans who already wet the bed without leaving, say, Bruno out to rest him.

Rest all our best players give the kids a chance..it's better to sacrifice 3 points for a greater gain long term.

Howe doesn't appear to be into that he keeps chucking them out.. we've lost 6 of the last 10 and 5 of the last 5, so it's clear.

Don't understand why you would rest players passed as fit now, in the busiest time of the year, when you have a 17 day Winter break coming up from 14-30th January.

There's fit to play and then there's fatigue and mental fatigue. I assume people can see these players are gassing earlier and earlier ?

Because of all the injuries we have. There are burnt out. It’s been clear that’s the case for over a month now.

I genuinely don’t get why we didn’t have Diallo on the bench last game yet we had 5 players on the bench who have all played left back for us and 2 keepers.
