Almost impossible question to answer, but I have looked at our wins up to the end of November, are there any players who seem to appear in our winning teams regularly yet haven't played in that many games overall.

Holy, Zakuani, Ehmer feature in every game (win lose or draw) when fit, likewise Eaves and Byrne.
Of the 6 games I've looked at Ogilvie only plays left back in 1.
3 players (play makers) who haven't had much game time overall, keep showing up in our winning teams, Oldaker, Parrett, and RCC.

I'm sure you can remember throughout this season, I've said it time and time again RCC. Even the early combo of RCC and Hanlan, look at the four of the six you listed for the evidence. I genuinely thought after recent siginings that Lovell had woke up and smelt the coffee, that we have pace to undo sides, but nope what do we have instead the same old plodders, with the exception Fuller.

I've just realised that 4 out of 9 wins were achieved without Eaves in the starting 11.

    O'gilvie <grr>
........... Who the Hell is Oldaker ? -- I'm asking you - because it would seem that Lovell doesn't know.

grumpygit -in one of your previous posts, you reminded us of the limitations of our squad. It would be unkind of me to suggest that many of the players just give us crap - I could take that - if it wasn't for Lovel wanting to choose the ones that give us diarrhea

We all became excited on deadline day with the raft of new signings, with SL and Scally having worked so hard to get them would it sound cynical for me to be thinking...…..…………………

Well ok, were these the players no one else wanted, were Gillingham the players last choice when everyone else had turned them down?
With such a long window why was all our business left so late unless the above is true?

Am I just becoming old, bitter, twisted and cynical. <sorry>

gumpygit - I 'liked' your last post (( I wish that I didnt have to ! )) --- the initial analysis [regrettably], is oh so true - and all too often....... I won't be unkind about your personal assessment - and I won't dare to disagree with your words of wisdom .

... I have watched Spurs a lot this season - including their magnificent show last night --- I could not see O'Gilvie having any hope of getting into their ballboy team - let alone their squad of 25. He must have some 'black' on Levy to keep getting a contract- even a 'slop' of diarrhea can cover the ground quicker than him.

"even a 'slop' of diarrhea can cover the ground quicker than him."

I wish I'd thought of that. :emoticon-0140-rofl: sums him up perfectly.
