Good afternoon folks.

I have £20 to put on a horse on Saturday.
The local lifeboat crew have asked me to put £10e/w on anything that could be linked to a boat.

I have looked at the racecards for Saturday, and the two that stand out for me, with recent form and the name are both running at Doncaster.

They are: Coastal Triep and Lifeboat Mona.

Both appear to have decent recent form.

Have any of you got any knowledge of these horses, and if so, which one would you go for?

Thanks in advance

Wait and see if either are declared tomorrow lunchtime would be my first suggestion. If Vroom Vroom Mag doesn't run against Lifeboat Mona then I'd choose her but will probably be a small field.

Hi Resurgam, fancy seeing you here ;)

Lifeboat Mona is declared to run at Huntingdon tomorrow, although there is a precautionary inspection at 8.00 am due to frost. There is therefore the chance she will be diverted to Doncaster on Saturday - have to wait and see what the weather does - but she could end up running against Vroum Vroum Mag who would probably beat her.

Coastal Tiep is entered in a Grade 2 race over 3 miles but he didn't appear to stay over a shorter trip last time so difficult to have any confidence in his chances. Perhaps you should open up the scope and have forum members post a selection and you pick the one that appeals most?

Not a bad idea OddDog. The other option is to go for the longest shot and hope for a place.
Something like Hard to Handel at 100/1 the other day would be handy :)

Hi Maestro. If it's down to picking from 2 it will be s/f. Let me pick one for you - and you back the other one <laugh>

Two different races mate. Even those at work wouldn't let that one get through translating Ron <laugh>
I know they are in different races but you can rely on me to pick the wrong one to back

If you’re looking at things from a nautical perspective surely the one for tomorrow has to be Jolly Roger in the ‘lucky last’ at Uttoxeter. Big price as well (Sporting Life are currently forecasting 25/1).

Well worth playing with Paddy Power tomorrow if you are betting against the jollies at Cheltenham as they are doing the money back offers for horses who finish 2nd to SP favourites.
