All about opinions Shiney - I saw some very promising stuff before his injury - he was excellent in the games leading up to it - at least you are not slating him completely - with confidence he is a good player - Martin O'Neill said the same shortly after joining us - he saw great ability in the kid - I just detest people that call him crap - he hasn't had much chance due to injury since we signed him - the goal he scored vs Villa was an excellent finish and in games leading up to that his touch looked really good compared to the last few times I've seen him - he is blatantly capable but out of form and low on confidence - there are a lot of clubs out there in the PL that would be interested in him if we were to let him go
This is why I sometimes find it hard to debate with some of our fans, in you first sentence you say "saw some promising stuff" which is fare ( anyone and I mean anyone with his transfer fee should at least show promising stuff) but in the same sentence you say he was " excellent in games " we obviously have different meanings of the word excellent because I have not seen Connor Wickham have an excellent game for Sunderland, he took his goal well against Villa and has shown signs of potential but nothing more. But like I said previous he still has time and is worth persevering with.
