HIAG... on the one hand you seem excessively angry about being banned, then on the other hand you also say to totsfan that it's a badge of honour... which is it?
In fairness SD i've seen a few QPR fans giving it the chav line left right and centre and no action seems to be taken against them either so it's swings and round abouts. In fact, the only time i've ever been abused on the chelsea board is by Rangers fans and scousers . I'm not going to go into whose board is better as they all offer different positives and negatives but i must agree that the level of proactivity by your mods is very good in terms of asking people to go easy on the abuse. You could equally say of course that the Chelsea one's good because they let it go for everyone
Appreciate the feedback anyway. I haven't been on the forum as much this month but Watford is someone I communicate with regularly and if that's the case we will take more action. Contrary to myth we hate banning and it's not something we do at the click of a few fingers. Excusing Matth's 10,000 accounts and the advertising nonsense, I've only ever overseen three bans in my time, two of which we deliberated over for weeks and the first of which was a decision taken due to months of CoC violation. We aren't afraid of confronting other members (believe me) but what we are afraid of is coming across as the Fourth Reich and trying to instil a totalitarian regime on our board.
This has nothing to do with your post (other than the particular phrase you used) or this thread, but "you can't have your cake and eat it"? Where did that phrase originate? And what were these people doing with all the excess cake?
Thanks for the comments Dan, as a regular poster on our board you of all people can appreciate how heated things can get. The very easy thing to do is blame mods for not being able to "control" other posters but with all due respect Varier, Bucks and myself are all below the age of 25. Why is it solely our responsibility to tell people older than us how to behave on an open forum? We are here to oversee the board and ensure everything runs smoothly, we aren't teachers, parents or the police. We will ALWAYS intervene and issue bans for any form of discriminatory abuse we see that targets race, sex, disability, gender and so forth, but we aren't going to wave our fingers about if we see words such as "Chav/Spud/Mouser" spouted around.
No idea. I just remember the phrase because there was a TV series on years ago called "Have your cake and eat it"... it was about a theme park and had loads of rollercoasters in it as well as loads of sex scenes. I was a 14 year old lad at the time... I still remember it...

If this forum had existed 7 yrs ago i'd be banned from almost every board yet now i am one of the most sensible and bestest posters

Fair enough, I guess I get a little bit of insight into the difficulties you face (all mods) and there is a decision to be made whether and when to intervene. My criticisms were not meant to be personal, but just a signal of how disappointed I am that I don't feel able to post on the Chelsea board, as I used to enjoy the banter with the many decent posters you have, but a few have spoiled it for me. A lot of my issues were due to HIAG and the fact that I would get very angry how he was treated by several posters. I could have not got involved but I guess as a fellow Spurs fan on an alien board, you stick up for your own. To this day I feel very strongly that he was wrongly treated, and the attitude of several of your (and one Arsenal) posters annoyed me enormously. But on this subject I have told you my views, and I will leave the subject. I would never have had you down as so young. I would have been far more patronising if I'd known

I'm not banned from any board but I don't tend to post much on rival boards as the mods are sensitive and tend to remove posts. When liverpool appointed Dalgish I jumped into a discussion and started saying he wasn't going to be the manager they hoped for and was appointed mainly for his reputation rather then ability and is in fact an average manager. Their mods deleted my posts! thats what happens on the liverpool board so I banned myself from there!
Not banned from any board I see HIAG is banned from the whole site now Probably deservedly so, as everyone know's he's the biggest wum on the whole forum - He just tries to cover it up by being intelligent.
