I thought he would be all over this board today, predicting that this is the start of our collapse and that we will be playing in the Conference in five years' time - FACT!

I hope he isn't sick. I rather like our little mascot.
 
Perhaps he has learned his lesson and finally taken on board that he is wildly inaccurate at the best of times <laugh> but I agree, I too miss his little contributions, they always fill me with hope when it is needed most <ok>
 
I've since found out that he may be away because these are heady times for Colchester United. They are playing Canvey Island in the final of the Senior Essex Cup (or something like that) on 16th. At last a chance for them to get some silverware.

That is correct.I have it on good authority.A friend of a friend knows a bell hop at the Jaywick Hilton and Mike rang room service for a celebratory plate of jellied eels after they beat St Osyth Rovers on penalties in the semi finals.FACT!

It would have sounded more authoritative if you'd said "dish" - everyone knows you don't have jellied eels on a plate!

That statement does not qualify for the ColuMike stamp of approval.The fact that I didn't know that disproves it's veracity.So there ....Fact!
 
tbh - the only reason I know is that I left home at sixteen and spent thirteen years in the metropolis trying to avoid jellied eels and the awful liquor they spoil pie and mash with!

A one who was a regular at Tubby Issacs stall at Aldgate i can tell you that jellied eels were served in a white bowl, lots of spicy vinegar and pepper,then over the road to Barneys for a liver and onion sandwich, oh how i used to pass wind on the way home.
 
I quite like pie and mash if it's a decent pie and nice, creamy, cheesey, buttery mash! The shops don't like the request "can I have pie and mash please, and don't put any of that **** on it!"
 
Hog God's, in Thetford do great pie, mash and liquor for about 5 quid.

I rather like it, but I am from Essex.
 
I've heard that the Tesco's are delighted that they have sold their entire allocation of 214 tickets for the final - this includes the 130 Southend United supporters they have "borrowed" for the day after bribing them with a bag of chips and some whelks each.
