Boghead is a small village in South Lanarkshire, west central Scotland.[1][2] It is about 23 miles (37 km) southeast of Glasgow

 

Bedfordshire. The most boring county in England.

But the village I live in has the best local village pub in the world!

Yeah, it was me mate. He was a Jarra lad, my Facebook is going into meltdown about it.

These young lads go over there. All idealistic but no idea what they're really getting into. Or maybe they do if they've already served in theatre, I don't know.

I don't know the lad but I'm sure he went there with the best of intentions.

I've 2 son's in their 20's. You can't always advise them at that age mate and hope they'll listen. They're full of optimism and righteousness. You can only do your best. I just know I'd break their legs to stop them getting involved in **** like this that's far beyond their historical and perspective understanding.

My heart bleeds for the family of this Jarrow lad. His family may never understand why he committed his life to this particular cause.

My thoughts are with his family tonight.

 

The guy was about 50 year old, mate. His kids are grown up now.

I used to live in Bedfordshire as a child before moving back to Leicestershire, village called Marston Morteine. Can’t say I found it very exciting either

 

I was down there for Uni so first year Halls, down Marsh Lane, then all around the Polygon after - Wilton Road, Newcombe Road, Devonshire Road - Also worked down Leisure World while I was down there

 

Choosing the right place to live and getting the best bang for your buck is very important imo. I live in a small village in Yorkshire and the surroundings are beautiful, the fact that it’s also relatively affordable means I get solid value and it feels a steal when I compare prices to the likes of a London etc. Work life balance passes many by in that respect imho.

 

How you end up in Yorkshire

 

Long story mate, but I arrived intending staying about 6 months and am still here donkeys later. I’ve lived all over the county and in Lincolnshire over the years (plus a spell in Hull ). I’ve been lucky in the main as I’ve lived in some lovely spots though. I’ve been in my current one for over 5 years now and I absolutely love it here.
