Is everyone still as optimistic now? I know I'm feeling a lot less optimistic than I was.

I was never optimistic - predicted us at 17th I think.

Also, I was lambasted by a couple about being patient and to wait for the transfer deadline - we still have weeks left for transfers bollox! Apparently it meant I was whingeing and moaning but hey ho!

Absolutely, look on the bright side.

We've retained our stars, even JC will probably be brought back into the fold.
Woodman may be given a spot in the squad.

Last season the difference between 17th and18th was 6 points.
Likewise between 17th and 8th it was also 6 points.

Depends if you're an optimist or a pessimist how you view it, but a couple of more wins for the team in17th and mid table wasn't that far away.
