Targett has literally done **** all since the season we signed him. Either he's been injured or he's been ****e. Not seen anything remotely impressive in him since the season we loaned him really.
Don't disagree but I think if he is fit, for Howe, he starts ahead of Hall at LB currently. Fact is he has been a waste of space (and 100k p/w in wages) for the last 2 seasons due to injury but if he'd been fit for the last 2 seasons and playing he'd be in the team currently. It's why we need a better LB in the summer - Lloyd Kelly seems to be the player coming in - not sure it's a massive upgrade but Howe clearly wants another LB as he doesn't see Hall as first choice yet - said it before when everyone was saying Hall was a waster a few weeks ago - he's 19, re-training his position and new to the club - kid needs time, which he's had now and he's starting to show his quality, especially on the ball - but watch him from a defensive point of view, he is still limited with his understanding of the game defensively and a bit of a risk. Genuinely think he and Tino could be England FB's in a few years time but right now they are both 2nd choice at NUFC.
Trippier has one of the highest assist tallies in the league despite being injured and not having the best 2nd half of the season. That says it all really. Has the highest assist tally of any defender. If Trippier had been fit all season he'd be on 15+ assists easily.
Gordon is already on 10 assists and 10 goals. As Trippier was taking all the corners and free kicks he was guaranteed to get assists. He doesn't score from free kicks anymore. Creative doesn't just mean taking set pieces.
I know it doesn't, but his crosses are also fantastic. I'm just saying he's one of if not our most creative player when he's on form and he plays. He was the most creative player in the league last season along side the likes of KDB and Bruno Fernandes. He's not had the best season after. Gordon has been our best player this season. I just don't like the idea of people giving up on Trippier. He's been mostly great since he's been here but had a difficult 2nd half of the season. I still think he's in our top 3 players when on form, and this is his first real problematic spell since being here. Lets see what happens next season.
Cup final, everyone's fit, who's EDDIE picking? Everyman and his dog can have an opinion but it's Eddie who's paid to make the decisions. Trippier starting over Tino everyday of the week for Howe currently.
If Spurs fail to beat Burnley, then all we have to do is win all 3 of our games and we can get 5th, as in order to guarantee 5th if they lose OR DRAW to Burnley, they'd have to beat City. So it's likely that if Spurs fail to beat Burnley, 3 wins would get us 5th.
Burnley HAVE to beat Spurs to avoid relegation. Forest may lost to Chelsea.... Last gameof the season is Forest vs Burnley.... Jesus that's massive. I hope Burnley win just for this reason.
It won't surprise me if we get worse next season.... half those players didn't seem to give a **** tonight. The few players we have worth keeping will start wanting out and the recruitment could continue with this thirst for easy to manage plodders. This side is way short of the talent required.
I predicted a 6th top finish and won't be changing it. After tonight I won't lie - the quicker this season is over the better. I don't want to see Dubravka play for us again, and there's something wrong with Keiran Trippier's game. Sad to see.
I don’t think he was fit to play. I also think he has declined a little this season but that’s ok aswell. He is 32.
The milk is starting to to turn sour....Howes ridden a wave of positivity around the club and 300 million, but sadly the moneys dried up and the wave of positivity has subsided. Eddie Howe talks a good game, but he's a bluffer! He never commits to anything when asked a question and can't make changes to affect a game positively. Howe's not going to survive next season I dont think ! This is the beginning things going wrong imo.. these players are starting to look unhappy... none of our lot look like they're enjoying it. Howes huff and puff style has been figured out by most clubs and unless the other team rolls over, our side is actually incapable of out battling or out thinking the opposition and nothing will change next season because this is now not an ownership issue.. intensity is our identity? It's been our downfall actually.
I wonder how many people on here at the start of the season would have accepted 8th with a poor champions league run.
