Sky Sports have been doing a poll and we ended up 17th, I’d be happy with that. At one point yesterday we were last but must have had a late rally, Wednesday ended up bottom, Fulham top.

I think this season is going to be a massive struggle............but then I think that every year.

I think that we will finish mid to bottom half - anywhere from 14th to 18th. It will depend on how quickly the new players fit into the team and MW's way of playing. With rumours still flying around that there maybe further changes within the squad I think that this season is going to be a cracker with a typical rollercoaster ride up and down the table, in only the way QPR can do it.

Hang onto your hats - and keep the faith :)

Relegation battle. You can't change a squad with so many players and expect to formulate any semblance of a team. The general consensus is that you only introduce one or two or a maximum of three new players into an established squad each season. We'll do well to avoid relegation.

    15-18 I’d expect
    12-14 be happy
    8-11 surprised
    Not going to go higher

Hopefully 21st or higher. If we can play some decent football and maybe, just maybe, have a good run in both cups and stay up without last season's anxiety then it will have been an improvement and we will be past the worst of the constraints of FFP...

There is a part of me that sparks up each rare time I buy a lottery ticket that somewhere tells me I am going to win. There is of course no logic nor reason to this.

Similarly, at the start of each season, despite common sense, I have a distinctly similar feeling of blind optimism as regards the forthcoming season.

I know this fleeting feeling will be entirely alleviated by approximately 5:00 tomorrow.

I still think we will finish 14th at the end of the season.

    Impossible to tell imo.

If all the new players fail to gel, we will be in a relegation battle.
However, on paper, it looks a good squad to me and if they do gel reasonably quickly, we could finish in the top half.

Just around top 10 if this group of individuals can be moulded into a team

I think you all gave exactly the same answers this time last year!

We have a totally new team and a new style of play. Even if all goes well, we will be prone to errors for which may be punished. We played quite well against Watford - but we lost!

If it almost impossible to predict where we will be, as could be good, bad or even ugly.
However, today I believe it will be around 16th-18th.
...but I am quietly optimistic! :)

I would like to return to this post at the end of September and then at Christmas.

I find it hard to be overly optimistic about this season but that said I would prefer that our survival in the Championship be assured before Easter Monday (Sheffield Wed) as I would like a relaxed visit to Loftus Rd and hopefully at Kenilworth Rd on the Saturday after. I guess I'd be satisfied with anything 21st or higher and given my pessimism for this season be very happy at or above 15th, and ecstatic if 12th or above

Sometimes I can be too optimistic, so I'm going to say play-offs rather than automatic promotion.

Bit more optimistic than some - 12th

I think that we've brought in some decent players, and there are a lot of very average / poor sides in this division. Freeman is a major loss but I think that this is the season for Eze to really shine

If we can stop giving away cheap penalties it would be good progress (and scoring those that we do get awarded!)

I don't see how we can realistically predict seeing as we have so many previously unknown entities in the squad. So much gelling to do and we still look very light in attack. I think we focus on survival as a priority and see where it takes us.

    Top 6 without a doubt.....nailed on guaranteed......at least that’s what my £50 at 10/1 says :)

    You share my childish optimism!

I also think 14th would be good. It is reliant on MW being safe in the job so that we can build rather than rebuild.

I just hope we get a home and away win relatively quickly to keep those monkeys off our backs.

And please, not a first 4 games like last year! A point or two with a moderate goal difference at least.
