I think the next 3 games are key against West Brom, Villa and Brighton, if we lose all those we deserve to go down... However even then we still have the likes of Burnley, Sheff Utd and Fulham to play so it ain't all gone. OK we're ****e, but I think you underestimate how bad the teams around us are, ie Sheff Utd and West Brom are as good as gone, too late for them to turn it around, leaving one team to go down with them. - Fulham have started picking up points and they have a good chance to stay up, but they may go through a bad run and have some tough matches coming up. - Brighton blow hot and cold and have struggled to pick up points - Burnley have played well sometimes but look unbelievably bad some times (like today) - and then us, yeah we're ****e, but to be clear of the drop zone despite being this bad says something about the other teams innit? I think Soton have done enough to stay up, so one of Burnley, Brighton, Fulham and us to go down with WB and Sheff U.
We're ****e even with our best players,so without all of them we're going to lose the slight edge we had over the clubs just below us.. It's the most depressing nufc 11 for asong as I can remember this. Dubs Lewis Lacelles Clark Murphy Shelvey Willock Hayden Joelinton Fraser Gayle
Hayden, Willock, Clark and Dubs have guts, at least they form some kind of spine. Murphy is the very definition of a fancy Dan and he'll be useless in this run in, Gayle will get crocked obvs, which means a lot hinges on Shelvey and Fraser.... And I ain't got much confidence in them at all. No one's arguing that we're ****e, but even despite the crap we've been churned out and the "lost 8 out the last 10" stay, its quite telling that we're still not in the drop zone. "the table doesn't lie" is the only true cliche, and right now there are 3 teams blow us, and 2 teams only just above us. Yep we've got a ****e team and a **** tonne of injuries, but other teams around us are down the bottom cos they're ****e too, and nothing is certain just yet. Let's revisit this convo after the West Brom, Villa and Brighton games.
The table was lieing all season and the fans knew it. Where are the goals going to come from? We might be in the bottom 3 in 4 days... I don't think we will but its really that close.
Weve not been in the bottom 3 all season, which is somewhat telling. Even when we've won we've been crap, we've been ****ing awful all season, it's not like we've played well and recently gone down hill, we've been beyond **** all season... Yet somehow never in the relegation zone. I'm just pragmatic and I work on logic and stats - hence as ****ing awful as we are and as much as you can say a team this crap doesn't belong in this division, the simple fact of the matter is we ain't in the relegation zone right now. So simple fact is there are 3 teams in a worse place than us right now, and 2 other teams above us that are in an equally perilous place. How we've played and how crap we've been doesn't count for **** now, it's all about looking forward and hoping this rabble can get some wins. Do I have any confidence in this team? No, but I still don't think the teams around us are any good, and I ain't gonna abandon hope yet when I know we still have a decent chance to stay up cos the other teams are so bad.
No its a problem, definitely. Just ASM been out loads already and in lots of games Wilson got **** all service and wasn't able to do anything... So in that respect our situation isn't a million miles away from before. It's about guts now, and if the likes of Shelvey actually play like they care, then we definitely have a chance. If he plays like his usual don't give a ****, then we've got a big problem.
I have to disagree we've never had all 3 out so it's much worse. I can only think of Sheff United away where we had such a weak available 11. We've got to hope the ****e replacing them can get us a couple of wins
