Saint. Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday. I got two lots of bad news leading up to the weekend and wasn't in the right frame of mind. Two funerals this week, so I'll be unlikely to manage it this coming Sunday either.

United leaked this for a reason mate. Rooney did it behind closed doors, but they chose to go public with it.

His lifestyle (drinking, smoking, etc) combined with his genes (look at his auld fella!) points to him not being the type of pro that has longevity into their mid 30's. They know this at OT & now he's at the 2 years remaining point in his contract, now is the ideal time to move him on for big money, while he's still got a good value in the market. He's played right into their hands here, if this was merely a ploy to get another payrise.

  3. Was it Man Utd that went public last time too?

No, last time Rooney issued a statement, saying how he felt United weren't buying at the right level etc.

He'd basically been tapped up by City & offered £250K pw, so Stretford played that card to ensure that United matched it.

Spoke to my reporter mate at lunchtime. Rooney does NOT want a move. Ferguson wants him out.

He wants Money, He wants CL football, He's getting both at ManU but it appears he's made up his mind and wants to leave..
Realistic options if he doesn't want to go abroad are Chelsea and City..
Both can offer CL and Money..
But City have been bitten once and don't think they'll be in for him again.
So, if he wants to stay in the UK, its Chelsea or Bust.

Spain is a no go IMHO, can you see him getting into either of the Madrid and Barcelona teams?
Agree, with others in that he won't make teams like Bayern or Dortmund any better.
And Italian football isn't as rich as it used to be.

    Final option would/could be PSG
