I find your posts so interesting DT3....I'm actually not sure whether you are simply a WUM or you suffer from Aspergers Syndrome. There is a fine line between pessimism and naivety....both of which cloud real judgement with ones emotional status quo.....you of which fall into the latter and blight anyone who's trail of thought doesn't fit your own. To suggest QPR will finish 8th, while saying anyone who (and quite rightly so) believes that just getting out of the relegation will be a struggle, to be "infected" is downright childish. We have witness so far this season some of the worst football QPR have produced for a number of years and have broken records for all the wrong reasons. I remain positive as we have plenty of time to fix this mess, but objectively having a go at people who have a perfectly valid negative perspective, while stating QPR will make up 16 points on the team in 8th for the second half of the season when we have barely got 7 in the first, smacks of windup merchant to me.
My heart is trying to tell me that we will survive. However I think to myself, if this was another team in the same position, do I really think they'd stand a chance of staying up? There still seems to be no end in sight for us leaking crap goals and I can't see where many goals will be coming from. 19th for me I'm afraid. I really hope I'm wrong.
So far I've voted with my heart for the game predictions and I'm afraid I've always been wrong. Head says we are gone sadly. BUT....as posted on another thread, last season, in the run up to our win over Liverpool on 21.3.12, we had only one win (over Wigan) in nineteen games. It is not time for the fat lady - yet!
I note there is a hardcore group, myself included, perhaps delusional, who still see us salvaging a 17th place finish. I guess always look on the bright side of life?
We have witnessed some of the best football QPR have played in 18 years and to be fair some of the worst both without getting the results I am no wind up my friend Why? The middle league will eat itself it's mystically set that way with the current unbalanced set of teams Snapshot now Swans at 8th currently Wigan eight points behind as we are behind them Yes we have to win Study the fixtures look ahead 66 points at this time are available 22 games left ... Not every team can go on a run and as I am on record of saying 8th position in this league is never predictable who got it last year? Look I admit I chose 8th just to show what I am setting my sights on and to have a go at those who after moaning about the team shouting for Harold and then us being unbeaten in three! They should be happy and optimistic because the maths is there yet they still want to rubbish the team and blame Hughes ... Who no longer works for QPR ... Tell me that's not infected! It will take a lot of points to get into the middle league of this division but I assure you those in it don't even know who will finish 8th and today my friend we still can . Fulham don't win tonight they are they are 4 off the drop zone Panic ? They won't as they believe as do their supporters ... So until we are down we are still up Here endth the lesson
And when they were up, they were up, And when they were down, they were down, And when they were only half-way up, They were neither up nor down.
DT, you have nearly got me believing again! What do you think about the likely fact that no team will want to be the team that QPR's break their duck against hence they try that little bit harder to beat us?
Don't get me wrong,I am nor a pessimist, nor an optimist...rather a realist. I always go to games with a positive supporting attitude, but set my predictions based on real performance data of both sides. I personally feel we should have beaten both Sunderland and Wigan, yet we failed....the disease of a loosing mentality runs deep and it will take time to repair, even for such a good man manager as Harry.....time we don't have. Can he turn it round? Possibly... Are the odds massively stacked against us? Most definitely... 8th is wide of the mark as based on points per game staying the same we would have to finish on 54 points or 2.1 points per game. 17th is most realistic and a overhaul in the summer.
We WILL finish above Reading, Villa, Sunderland and possibly Wigan We WILL finish below Man U, Man City, Liverpool.....and probably Chelscum
‏@OfficialQPR Nelsen: I’m confident if we can get that first win, we’ll get another and we’ll get going. _____________________________________________________________________ Not 'When' but 'IF'!! Got To laugh
I've predicted 19th but if we do make 17th there has to be a statue to celebrate. Harry slaying the welsh tosser immortalised in bronze?
15th for me. First win on Saturday and an injection of confidence will see some points start coming in. Vital that we as the fans inspire the players with our confidence as opposed to pushing them towards despair.
We are a considerably better team than Sunderland,Aston Villa and Reading, all of which we will finish above. I am sure posters will remark that they have more points than us and are therefore better teams, however we outplayed these teams and whilst we will start accumulating wins i cannot envisage these three teams picking up many points. I also believe that we will finish above Southampton and Wigan which makes are finishing position 15th. In reply to another post wanting apologies, no one would have imagined with players of the caliber of Diakite, Mbia, Faurlin,Taraabt,Park,Cisse and Zamora that we would struggle for goals. Everyone pre season, and the start of the season including Pundits, believed that we would be in a comfortable mid table position come December, however with injuries, suspensions and bizarre defending we find ourselves in this uncomfortable positon;however there are 22 games left and a mere 8 points off safety, 'Arry will get the wins required over the festive period and we will stay up....Looking forward to Swords Apologies come May!!!
relegated and wont get out of the bottom 3 all season is the common feeling and you cant argue with that looking at the total points gained....I have to agree its a very tall order now as where are the 40 or so points going to come from when we are nearly half way through the season and you have not reached double figures yet....
Absolutely spot on. Dave is a WUM of the 1st order. I will go to every home game, a couple more away games and probably the FA Cup 3rd round. I spend a small fortune supporting Rangers and they are a big part of my life. I will support them at every game and cheer them on. I will support them, even if they end up in the Blue Square League. To suggest that I am in some way "infected", just because I think we will be relegated is both insulting and quite frankly pathetic. I hope with all my might that I'm wrong and that we stay up, which is, of course still possible. Stating that we will finish 8th Dave is most definitely a wind up.
