We should be playing our best player in his best position. He should only be used out wide if we need to cover for injuries
This is pretty sound for a first team and backup XI: ----------------------------Chesney------------------------- ----------------------------(Viviano)------------------------- Sagna------------Mertesacker-------Koscielny-----------Gibbs (Jenko)-----------(Vermaelen)-------(Sagna)--------(Monreal) --------------------Flamini-----------Ramsey----------------- -------------------(Arteta)---------(Wilshere)---------------- Walcott----------------------Ozil----------------------Cazorla (Oxlade-Chamberlain)-------(Rosicky)-----------------(Podolski) ----------------------------Giroud---------------------------- ----------------------(Sanogo/Bendtner)---------------------- I reckon that backup XI would be up there pushing for top 4 if they were always fit
I still dont want Bendtner anywhere near our team. Poor player with a horrible attitude. Podolski was great at CF the Season before he joined us, when he is fully fit I would still like to see him given a chance as our second choice. (Im sure he would prefer to play there too). Walcott scored 4 goals in 4 games down the middle for us last Season. 1st Choice - Giroud 2nd - Podolski 3rd - Walcott 4th Sanogo
Ozil can play on the left, on the right or through the middle. Very versatile player. He has the pace and tricks to beat his man so is able to play well on the wings as well as centrally. I'd play him down the middle though with Cazorla out to the left as Cazorla has done well in this role and can drop into the middle from this position anyway. And Ozil is just world class and should be given the best position to flourish. If something happens to Walcott while Podolski and Oxocube are out i think we'd probably play something like: Ozil----Rosicky---Cazorla Or Ozil----Wilshere---Cazorla But it could just as easily be Wilshere----Ozil----Cazorla, Cazorla-----Ozil-----Ramsey, Rosicky----Ozil----Cazorla We have a lot of midfield quality and most of them are capable of playing on one of the wings if needed.
We hav'nt played a 4-3-3 for a long time. I think we will see a 4_2_3_1 - with Ozil in the free role behind Giroud. -------Wilshere----Flam/Ram/------- Walcott---------Ozil----------Carzola Carzorla will certainly play left while Podolski is injured. When the German comes back Wenger may move him into the middle.
Cazorla has shown he can operate on the left brilliantly because he knows when to cut inside and make up the numbers in midfield. We don't play with proper wingers anyway, so anyone can play there. The obvious choice is: ----Ramsey----Arteta----- Walcott---Ozil----Cazorla ----------Giroud----------- Wilshere doesn't get a look in, but when he's on form, he could break into the team easily enough. He would be the first midfielder to come in when anyone is injured too, as the others can be moved around to let him play in the center.
Why has Wilshere fallen behind Ram in the pecking order, not606ers have been coating Ramsey for years
Because Ramsey for the last half a season or so has been playing well and constantly improving. He has been our best player in pre-season and so far into this season. He can't be dropped at the moment because he is playing too well. He came in for too much stick, considering that comming back from an injury that could have ended his career he had to take on the creative burden left by the departures of Nasri and Fabregas. He was thrown into being a first team regular when he was still recovering and mentally not ready for it yet. He did a decent job but couldn't keep it up for a whole season and so people started to give him a load of stick when his form dropped away. He then went back to being a squad player and having to fight for his place. He did well at the olympics and for Wales which i think helped give him the confidence to return to form with Arsenal. He now seems to be fully over the effect of his terrible injury and has improved dramatically. To the point where once again everyone can see a time when he will achieve the potential we all knew he had years ago. From the football i've seen this season he is one of the best performing midfield players currently in the league.
What afcftw said. Also Wilshere's form has gone the other way. He's always injured, lacking fitness, lacks an end-product to his runs, and isn't as good at winning the ball back as Ramsey. For a central midfield position, it's Ramsey all day! I still think Wilshere has greater potential, but for now he's behind Ramsey.
Podolski's out for 3 months and won't be back until December, so you can keep him out of any team selection plans for now.
In the CAM position. If someone like Walcott's injured, then maybe move him to the right just to cover, seeing as the OX is out for a while.
Isn't he out for 10 weeks and got injured about a week ago? 3 months would be 12 weeks. Possibly a bit of a pedantic reply..... my bad.
Szczesny Sagna Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs Wilshere Ramsey Walcott Ozil Cazorla Giroud Subs: Viviano Podolski Arteta Ox Vermaelen Monreal Rosicky This is the best match day squad we have if everyone is fit and in January hopefully add a striker to that in Nacho's place and it looks very good.
Why is he even with the German national team if he is injured? Surely he should be being treated by the Arsenal medical team? Although saying that, I think with our history, I'd prefer the German team medical staff looking after him. **** it, I'd prefer the Barnet teams medical staff.
We knew that last week. For some reason it's been reported in the German media today and some people have taken it as fresh news.Wenger said last week that Podolski could be out for upto 3 months
