I was 6 when Diana died. I can honestly say I was devastated that day. The news was on all day and cancelled Sooty and Sweep.
Never seen it. My aunt was born an Irish American catholic and my uncle a Northern irish prod. They agreed they were never gonna send their kids to church so my grandfather done his own christening in his East Belfast home. I can't remember **** all about it just heard the stories of it happening and the Berlin wall coming down the same night.
Some guy from Lanarkshire was baw deep in my sister and came all over my CD player Nearly put me off my stroke as I watched from the cupboard with the door slightly ajar.
Dan,do you remember some bloke took flowers or was it a cuddly toy from outside Buck palace and ended up in court. When he came out of court some one walked up to him and punched him mass hysteria
It was like that all week - if you weren't crying in the street you were accused of being heartless. Some people were saying "this is sadder than when my own mum died"
I hate the British public; we're ****s who'd cry over a dead posh bint and are more likely to give money to sick donkeys than children. Spastics every last one of us.
Eddie Izzard came out with a great line about the hysteria aroudn Di's death. "My mum died, no one gave a ****".
I upset someone at work by pointing out that when my Granny died they never cancelled the football and cricket or closed all the shops and pubs down and we certainly didn't wander round whitehall with her coffin even though she was a far better person.......
