Hull City nearly signed Shane Long in the summer and the deal only fell away at about a minute to midnight on deadline day. Long was actually at the Hull training ground having a medical when WBA pulled the plug. Hull have a strong Irish connection in their squad and I think that connection was instrumental in Long wanting to come to Hull. I'm surprised Fulham have gone down this season, then again I'm amazed that Palace are as high as they are because I thought pre-Pullis that they were favourites for the drop. The Championship is a very good league and a lot of people prefer it to the Premier League, it is certainly a league were every club has an equal chance which cannot be said of the Premier League. I'm sure Fulham will be back, I hope so because it is always a good away trip. Good luck anyhow.
