I suppose your right, I think DM is probably happy if we are out of the relegation zone, what do you think CH can do to get the strikers scoring?, we had a win and that's great but from a non-striker.
You don't get extra points for goals scored by a striker, if you've been following Norwich this season you should know all about our strikers being injured!
I think if you look at the goals we've scored over the past few season, more have come from midfield/defence than from strikers. Does it really matter who scores??
Don't think CH needs to do anything apart from enjoy the luxury of being able to select a side from a fully fit squad. The main missing ingredient is confidence (and a bit of luck in the penalty area wouldn't go amiss).
Exactly my point, imo it does matter who scores because you have strikers who are there to score and midfield/defence who can also score, essentially your removing one of your scoring options.
The sign of a good, balanced team is plenty of goals coming from midfield. This means that that they are getting int he right position to get shots on target. I'm excited BTW I'm about to start doing my coaching badges and train 5-7 and 10-13 year olds can't wait!
Good for you Kemp -- but be sure not to train the talent out of them! Agree about balance, but in a well-balanced team the striker(s) also score, so Fenland also has a point.
The new coaching programme by the FA is geared quite a lot on ball retention, composure and correct decision making. They still think the majority of teenagers have been coached incorrectly though so it may take a while for it to start showing....
Level 1 is it? I did mine in Watton a few years back. The course is really good, and certainly helps give you the confidence to train kids. Assuming the course hasn't changed too much (it might well have done with the recent debates on skill vs results, etc), it's helpful as it gives you lots of training games to use, so you can see the kids are enjoying something whilst getting better.
Yep, it's the level 1 course. I already help out at the FDC working alongside someone who has done it. I only help out when they are short on Saturday mornings but I love it. I see some kids as young as 5 that are showing real promise, I think it's more if they can stick with it.
We certainly found that as they hit their teens, other priorities begin to take over. Our team were one of the worst in the league, so I can see why the appeal drops!
There is this one kid who is almost 6 that we put in with the 9 year olds and he was technically better than the lot of them. He was smaller obviously but the tricks he has in him, wow! Amazing.
