We live in a two options democracy: Conservatives cutting back on spending and helping the rich or Labour spending money they haven't got and helping the rich. Depending where you live, you will vote for one or the other all of your life no matter how bad they **** up.

Before we revolt, I would like to try Proportional Representation which I hope would enable other parties to challenge the big two and, maybe, encourage them to try harder and actually do the job they've been elected to do.

How can he be an argument against any party other than his own? Not that I think the small parties are any better than the big ones, especially the Greens and BNP.

He isn't, but that won't stop Labour/Tories/Lib Dems using that argument

This <applause> We keep getting told that people died for our right to vote - if that is true then it could also be argued that they died for our right to say "I'm not going out tonight and wasting my time voting for any of those self serving, hypocritical, mendacious, semi literate ****s - Ethel, get the beers and the curry in and let's have drunken monkey sex".

Precisely. They did not die for our right to vote, they died for our right to choose whether or not we want to vote.

Not really, we would be in a far worse situation now if we didn't have the vote ... politicians take liberties but they still have to pander to us to some extent ... if they royally piss all of us off then we have the option to go and vote and oust them.
