When all is said and done this forum is for posting opinions, whatever the colour of your view. Everyone has the right of reply to a thread to express their opinions and if everyone agreed with each other it would be the very dull shade of grey. It's the black and white that entertain us and annoy us, make us laugh and, occasionally, even make us cry. That's what is so great about individual opinions, we can agree and we can disagree but when all is said and done we're all R's at heart and we all cheer the good times and gnash our teeth at the bad times. This place is all human nature in a nutshell...
Want Roller said.. Supporters are fickle but i get annoyed but the massive swings, at the beginning of the seaon everyone was slatting Buz and praising the Greypeacock and now its the opposite. The short memories and lack of consistancy just makes you not want to open certain threads but Still a great forum to be on.
Although we have lost some good posters from this board those that remain and some newbies should continue to offer their own points of view. I thought that Joey Barton was good against Wolves earlier in the season and how wrong I have been he has not played half decent since, and to make matter worse he set up a goal for carrick in December. Roll on Saturday morning against chelski, I don't understand why a Derby match is not being televised surely either this or Liverpool v Manure could be played at a later date/time. Comeon urs.
The nature of this forum reflects the nature of life in general. You cannot step twice into the same river, for other waters are constantly flowing in. Change is inevitable, like death and taxes. So the personell may change, but the spirit of the place remains. I think that this is a great board, I love it. If anything I think that we all spend too much time chastising ourselves and each other. So you read a post you don't agree with, so someone has changed their mind about a player, so someone else is on a downer about something... So, so, so... what!? I just don't get why people take such offence to it, I really don't. Opinions are like Rs-soles, we've all got one, and they're all a bit different! But variety is the spice of life. The last thing I want is everyone agreeing all the time (where's the fun in that!?), or anyone saying the exact same things in the exact same tone. IMHO posters to this forum should feel entirely free to be as miserable, optimistic, angry, elated, hypocritical, fickle or just plain confused as they want to be. As long as they're gracious enough to be pulled up on it and challenged by other posters on here. It's all just throw away, spur of the moment feelings anyway, so let's not take it all too seriously please.
Lot of good points made on this thread. Seems like noone knows why they left really. I have wondered myself why sometimes some posters get so very much stick. But never got the impression that this was a problem for the ones who have left. Hope to see you all - Dave, Col, Swords and Northolt back soon. All great contributors in your different ways.
This is what being part of a football board should be all about. Embrace those who have opinions that differ from ones own. I have the utmost respect towards those who have left, as they surely have their reasons which we just have to accept. Good post TIMK (I must remember to put you on my list as well )
