I certainly remember Bircham playing for QPR when we were in the championship. He always used to dye his hair with a blue stripe. Not an awful lot of managerial experience having only managed 29 games in Ireland before being sacked by Waterford's chairman over a disagreement where Bircham refused to play the chairman's son. Positives from a coaching point of view is that he's coached at Millwall, QPR & Chicago Fire and worked under managers like Paul Hart, Mark Hughes, Ian Holloway, Neil Warnock & Harry Redknapp so should have had a wealth of experience from them. With regards to Woodman, there's Rumours flying about on social media which suggests the chairman only offered Bromley £5000 compensation for Woodman. Needless to say I imagine the Bromley chairman (who is a shrewd businessman), probably just laughed off that approach.

No great loss -Akinde either wasn't good enough, or work hard enough (or both ).. .... it's good to see that Colchester are sponsored by a scaffolding firm - perhaps he can use a couple of poles to help him reach to head the ball - he seems to have lost the ability to jump !

Just noticed that Jack Bonham is playing for Stoke in championship and has been starting most games in 2022. Not bad considering a lot of fans didn't rate him
If there's one lesson we as supporters can learn from Saturday it's that no matter how bad things are you should never assume that they can't get worse
