Dear Lord, please let us beat that "massive" club with "fantastic" ambition that is so obviously so much better than our humble club (at least in the eyes of lucifer McKay), Baaaadiff Sh*ttyand I'll be a happy easter bunny............
Persnally I want us to be a yoyo club not a mid table club, fighting for promotion/against relegation is that bit more exciting and as long as lessons learned the finance and security it could bring the club are amazing. No ilusion though it's tough to get there and we're not ready to survive the prem but the extra money of one season could pay the bondsoff and provide the required income to the academy for a few years.....
I also would prefer to be a yoyo club - if handled correctly the extra money can seriously help the club - but we all know what happens when it is not handled well. However for this season alone I would prefer we stay just "safe". I think the additional pressure that promotion would impose on SD would be enormous - assuming of course that he too did not then get poached. Another year of learning and a structured push to the play offs or beyond would enable us to strengthen the squad in say January and make any potential stay in the upper tier just that little less hard. I actually would also prefer to miss out on the play offs altogether - SD needs as long as possible in the close season to prepare for next year and an additional few weeks added to this season shortens that time - in the past our managers have made reference to the uncertainty till the play offs are over. Yes the money would be nice but is unlikely to make an y real difference. We have over-achieved splendidly this season and I am already looking forward to next year being better still
Ditto plus wins on Friday (I'm there) and at Posh (I haven't seen us win away yet this season) and Boro (my AD supports them, and if we can't get in the play-offs it would be nice to stop them). As a side issue, if we do make the play-offs when does TKs loan end? Does end of the season mean our regular league season, Man U's regular league season which would mean he would be available for play-off semi but not a final or the whole lot?
