i think we need an instincive striker (Beckford hasnt won me over), A wide man, a CM to sit next to Danns and im not sure on Peltier...
I think we just need 1 winger tbh (Whittingham as we will need a good free kick taker too ), Marshall will hopefully become a good regular next seaosn and maybe a replacement for Howard, as hes not the best plan B anymore. Beckford will be a difficult one, i'd keep him and hopefully he can hit the ground running. Keeping Nuge is a no-brainer. Danns and Drinkwater in midfield for me next season, Wellens and King are too inconsistant imo, and thats not what you need in your central midfield. Keeper and Defence, i wouldn't change it really, i can't see any player that could come in and improve on what we've got, especially as we are currently overstocked with centre backs atm.
^ agreed. I will lose so much faith if pearson loses his job. I like how silent the owners are- just lets the manager do his job, i like them a lot. Though given how much they did for publicity at the beginning, maybe drop the prices for the run in now we are out of it....
We are only a little club - with no illusions of grandeur - unlike you lot at the beginning of the season that kept on mouthing off about 'auto promo'....welcome to the real world!
I firmly believe that Nigel Pearson is a good enough manager to take a team from the Championship to the Premier League - assuming that he also gets sufficient financial support from his board etc. I am not, however, particularly optimistic that he would be able to keep us there. I am not a pessimist by nature but when it has come to big games NP hasn't been convincing - first leg of play-off final against Cardiff - worringly outplayed both on the pitch and technically leaving us a mountain to climb in the second leg- Chelsea game - within 10 mns it was obvious that we were being torn apart down the flanks yet he persisted with his botch defence until Gallagher's injury forced a change. Under MON I always felt optimistic that we had a game plan and, indeed, we often punched well above our weight - capable of beating anyone on our day - sadly I have never felt like that under NP's tenure, first time around or this - really hope he proves me wrong, bt I'm yet to be convinced.
We didnt all keep mouthing off tommylion, some took alot more measured approach, but as on old git that is something that comes with watching lcfc for yrs and yrs. The stance our owners are gonna take over the summer regarding the manager etc,tho as ive said before, i cant say im really pro or anti pearson, jury is still out for me, is def a concern to me.as stability has to be taken in to account As stated above Beckford is a tough one, undoubted ability, but not so sure about the attitude. The squad, tho on the whole talented, def needs some changes to be made.all in all a shambolic season, and def one we massively underachieved in, tho whether SGE or NP, i think it maybe the players who have to look at themselves more so
