Although it was expected the season was going to be tough & a 17th finish (which is still possible) would be satisfactory it has to be said that overall the season as a whole has been a huge let down. The optimism from last season going into this has long disappeared with anger, frustration, discontent etc replacing it. The aim at the start of the season would have been to achieve the 38-40+ points mark which barring a miracle isn't going to happen. So on reflection here's the events that I believe had a major influence on why we're in the position we currently stand & not got the points we should have are:
⢠The Goons ****ing up pre-season & not selling until too late
⢠Rushed signings of Barton & SWP
⢠QPR v Chelsea great win but all the racism business certainly had a knock on affect
⢠Faurlin injury
⢠Barton sending off versus Norwich
⢠Cisse sending off versus Wolves
⢠Diakite sending off versus Fulham
⢠Buzsaky miss against Everton
⢠Hill disallowed goal versus Bolton
As the 4 year plan showed QPR has & will always be a real life soap opera & TBH I probably wouldn't want any other away although a period of stability & relative success wouldn't go amiss.
If we do go down then as long as can hold on to the majority of the squad then I do think we're in a strong position to bounce back.
We are QPR & life goes on.
