Man Utd are saddled with debt, they have taken it down though from the high £500 millions to the high £300 millions, the money they have chucked around this window though has come from cash reserves they have built up, this is not likely to be repeated soon, on a reality note they are way ahead in commercial terms and are likely to be heading into the realms of £500 million turnover per year. They have built a brand strength to the extent that even not being in the champions league for a season will not depress their revenue in the way in which it may for Arsenal. As a club they are on their own as they have achieved this despite their debt, they don't have the rich arab or russian bankrolling the team and the club.
