I think you’ve nailed this, Flitton. I can see him playing alongside Joao, and with his physical presence on set pieces, plus experience, he has a role. The player who has the trickiest job to get back into the match day squad, is Gray. Sarr has more pace, others finish better than him, Deeney and Murray have more physicality and all round nous.
Apologies if this has already been shared, but I thought this was rather interesting. Some players on less than I might have expected https://www.hertfordshiremercury.co...aries-revealed-former-current-watford-4595358
Pussetto, Forestieri and Deulofeu all came on from the substitutes' bench so 5 ex-Hornets were involved in the game. Zeegelaar stayed on the bench. Both Pereyra and Okaka made assists and Pussetto scored the winner for Udinese. Pussetto and Deulofeu are only on loan to Udinese. Deulofeu (who entered the game in the 78th minute) is not yet fully match fit, but how is he able he make such a quick recovery as soon as he leaves Watford?
It’s how they try and force moves these days - I don’t blame him. He was a class act for us, perhaps scoring the most technically proficient Watford goal ever. At Wembley. Love him.
I have read a discussion on this elsewhere - the general consensus of opinion was that it is rubbish. But then, who knows really? According to Spotrac, Pereyra was on well more than twice the amount quoted when with Watford - no mention of GD but I can't see that his salary would have been far lower that RP's - and he is arguably still under contract here. Maybe we are paying a portion? When we have players like Sinclair apparently earning more than Udinese's top players (over £1m per annum), those figures quoted must surely be questionable?
Missed a chance in the second half too, but had a good game overall. Aberdeen's defence looks solid with him there - next up Celtic, which could test him though.
Lloydinho has joined Boreham Wood's Academy coaching staff. I wonder if he'll still keep playing for Kings Langley? https://www.borehamwoodfootballclub...rd-legend-lloyd-doyley-joins-bw-pase-academy/
I doubt it will last but I see Granada, featuring Foulquier and Kennedy, are sitting in third place in La Liga - a point behind the leaders, with a game in hand. And Okaka scored twice for Udinese last night - wonder if we could borrow him back for a while?
Quite a few of our exes playing here, but, maybe some were theirs first. Number 96 on the bench has a handy name: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/54771998
Good luck to Robert Page taking charge of Wales whilst Ryan Giggs is suspended. Only Watford Wembley winning captain ( unless you include a semi final !)
Ex Hornet youngster joins them lot.. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...atford-player-dion-pereira-joined-luton-town/
