Sign him up !! I don't remember losing like this with him in the side. Ok weren't playing Man City type sides too often but even in the Boothroyd Premier league season we weren't hammered.
Alessandro Diamanti is the captain of the new Australian A-League team Western United. He wasn't too bad on Sunday but was clearly up himself.
https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...fatigue-caused-leave-watford-football-behind/ Miguel has "gone fishing"! An interesting read and I find I have quite some sympathy for his point of view. Some will go on about that "tackle" but thinking on who it was on I can forgive him... I hope he enjoys his retirement.
Sad to read that one of my favourite players from the 1959-60 season has just died. Mick Benning was born in Croxley Green in 1938 so was truly a local lad made good. He was only ever a part time player, working in the print industry that Watford was famous for in those days. As part of the promotion winning Holton team, his dashes down the right wing always excited the crowd. He only played league football for Watford in a short career, but I will remember him being able to put in a great cross onto the head of 'Big Cliff'. You gave me great pleasure Mick, and I thank you.
He was told that he had to become full time but wasn't prepared to give up his day job. He was the uncle of someone i went to school with and lived over the road from me.
Tom Aldred. Remember him? We signed him from Carlisle as one for the future but he never played for the first team. I think there was an attitude problem but could be wrong. He is now not very good with Brisbane Roar as their captain.
Wayne Brown managed Maldon & Tiptree in their FA Cup loss to Newport Co. on BBC2 last night. Looked exactly the same age as when he played for us 15+ years ago!
Marco Silva seems to be the next to join QSF in the long queue of ex premier league managers looking for the next pay out for failure Ironically his players played their hearts out for him in their latest two defeats, maybe to impress the next manager willing to put his neck on the block for that club
