As I mentioned in the match thread for the Villa game, jerzeypie and I went to see Burton v Colchester on Saturday - the U's had 3 ex-Horns in their squad. Massey was involved in Colchester's goal, pinching the ball off the Burton left back and breaking, his cross partially cleared to the goalscorer. Burton's 3rd goal took a slight deflection off Matthew Briggs and Marvin Sordell came on as a sub and had a few chances, a couple of which he should have scored.
OK, I doubt that anyone else remembers John Patten, but he played for us as a very good winger from 1952 - 1955. We signed him from Brentford and he went on to be player/coach and manager for a short period, which was not a success. Born in Glasgow in 1923 he died last October in Stanmore.

Good Lord - they must be the exception then - most football fans are extremely complimentary about their manager and players!
"Ex-England keeper James, 45, would be a stunning appointment given his only previous experience in the dugout was as player-manager of Sachin Tendulkar’s Indian outfit Kerala Blasters in 2014." You couldn't make it up!!
FF and Pudli proving to be much more successful at Sheffield Wednesday than Vydra and Bond are at Reading!
Fulham have appointed Slavisa Jokanovic as their new head coach. The Championship side had been without a manager since sacking Kit Symons in early November. Serb Jokanovic, 47, won promotion to the Premier League with Watford last season but left Vicarage Road after contract talks broke down. He was appointed manager at Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv in June, leading them into the Champions League group stage for the first time. His last game in charge was a 5-0 victory on Sunday, with Maccabi announcing Fulham had agreed to pay a £367,000 compensationfee. Will be interesting to see if he can do as well without the input of the foreign legion.
I also think that there would have to be no loan fee and the parent club would still have to pay the wages - which club would agree to that when loaning to a Championship club that was in the PL a few years ago?
Poor old boy! To think that he played a whole 72 minutes on Saturday and was expected to play for a few more minutes yesterday. Terrible cruelty. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35193098
Dean Yates has lost his job at Notts County. He only played for a short period at Watford before a knee injury ended his playing days
