Coincidentally, whilst reading that I suddenly realised that this month is the 30th anniversary of my retirement from the game - well, the Futsal version of it - I had given up the proper version a few years previously.
Don Cowie's Ross County look like retaining their premiership status. After winning the first leg of their play-off final 2-1 against Raith Rovers, they're leading 2-0 in the home leg. Good news for football in the Highlands after Inverness were relegated to the third tier - and for their fans, such as myself.
Final score 4-0 - highlighting a bit of a gulf in class between the Premiership and the Championship.
Not sure where this has come from really but remember thinking it was a shame he got let go although guess we had a strong squad at the time. And Luke has done well for himself since as he says. https://x.com/LukeONien/status/1794807177397379127
Julian Dicks got a job at Heybridge Swifts. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...watford-assistant-manager-returns-non-league/
Shades of Sheffield Wednesday v Peterborough last year in the German promotion/relegation play off Bochum save themselves in a penalty shoot out having been 3 down from the first leg but they were away to Dusseldorf.
"ex-Watford manager" He managed us for four games ten years ago, and has managed eight other clubs - why on earth do they not mention one of them in the headline instead? https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/l...garcia-to-succeed-chelsea-bound-enzo-maresca/
Guess it’s because it’s “football league” related ? Although why are they reporting on a Premier league club ? Least they said why he left . Not claimed he was sacked .
Uche Ikpeazu was one of ours who never played for us. Now St Johnstone have agreed a deal to sign him from Port Vale.
He's never really shone at any of the clubs he's played for - and there's been a dozen or so - but the Hearts fans seemed to like him, so maybe St Johnstone fans will too. I think all I could say about him is that he's a bit better than Ashley Fletcher....
Looks like we'll be seeing Ben Hamer back at the Vic next season - he's signing for Sheffield Wednesday.
